Oh boy, hillary is so out of here, Obama is expected to win without a doubt.

6. You can't say it's Hillary doing the push polling
Unless it's connected back to her campaign. Do you remember when MSNBC accused Huckabee's Campaign of push polling but Fox News somehow traced the callers back to some where like Iowa and it was an independent group? They had egg on there face saying it was Huckabee. But Huckabee asked the independent group to quit doing it but they said they would keep it up anyway.

It will happen a lot so get a recorder in NC and IN. Ask them to state the organization.

but I don't, naturally someone doesn't record all their conversations.

Do you push record before you pick up the phone?

The call was identified and then the person pushed record.

27. He says in the Huffpo blog
that he asked the guy where he was calling from and received an answer, but he didn't record that part?

I am not sure what you mean by "you probably would". If you mean that I have a high degree of skepticism when presented with information that is inflammatory and not backed up by credible information, well then, yes I would. If you mean that I am just a knee-jerk responder to any information that might be negative about Clinton, well then, no I am not.

28. call from the firm of Geoff Garin, the new head of Hillary Clinton's campaign team
North Carolina activist David LaMotte just got a push poll call from the firm of Geoff Garin, the new head of Hillary Clinton's campaign team. It wasn't as bad as asking "would it change your mind if you knew John Kerry actually bought his Vietnam medals off E-Bay." Or "How do you feel about John McCain's illegitimate black children?" But it was a push poll nonetheless, even if it also had elements of information gathering and message testing. This isn't the first time that the Clinton campaign or their allies have had pollsters offering positive information about Clinton and negative information about her opponents--they did it on the eve of the California primaryand in South Carolina. (And firms linked to the Giuliani campaignmade highly negative push poll calls against Mitt Romney in Iowa and New Hampshire) But it's a disturbing practice precisely because it tries to spin the recipient under the pretense of merely asking about their views.

Clinton, Obama neck and neck in SC
Posted: Monday, April 23, 2007 6:25 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray and Chuck Todd

Just three days before the Democratic presidential debate in South Carolina, a new poll by South Carolina NBC affiliate WIS-TV finds that Clinton and Obama are running neck and neck in the state. In the poll, which was conducted by Garin-Hart-Yang Research Group, Clinton is the preferred choice of 24% of likely Democratic primary voters, Obama is at 23%, and Edwards is at 16%.

The votes were also split along racial lines. Seventeen percent of white voters said they backed Clinton, compared with 31% of African Americans who did so. Obama received similar support (16% among whites and 29% among blacks), but Edwards' numbers were flipped (28% among whites and 7% among blacks).

Actual results of the SC primary?

OBAMA - 55.4%
CLINTON - 26.5%
EDWARDS - 17.6%

Garin-Hart-Yang: Wrong on polling. Wrong for America.

39. Outside of it being a 'push' poll, what exactly is the matter with this?
What is wrong with pointing out the weaknesses in one's opponent?

Dont I hear that sort of thing from Obama supporters all the time -- such as, "Would you vote for a person who gave Bush the authority to go to war in Iraq?"

Is that not a legitimate push poll type question?

Is it push polls per se that need to be done away with? Or only push polls that injure Obama; anti-Clinton push polls being perfectly okay?
