I find myself angry and mean spirited towards Clinton. I know rationally I should
just take the race in stride and let the game play out, but I am pissed. I am seeing red. I want Obama to obliterate her. I think I am more pissed because I feel cheated and betrayed by Hillary. I supported her and her husband through the 90's and at the beginning of her campaign. I feel pissed that I was so duped by the Clintons and disgusted with her tactics. Maybe that is why I am so mad, she totally let me down. I will never forgive her and I want her gone. I don't even think she will retain her Senate seat.

I have taken this personally, because I was fully invested in the Clintons when the vast right wing conspiracy was trying to bring Bill down. These are not the people I defended.

I have posted some hateful things about Hillary here recently and I can not stop myself. I am enraged to the point that bile comes to the back of my throat with the thought of voting for her. I won't do it.

Thanks for letting me vent.

14. Perot in '96 for me too!
Followed by Nader in '00 and Kerry in '04. Then again, being in Texas it doesn't really matter if I wrote in Paris Hilton and the Republicans were running a one-legged dog named Tricky. Old Trickster would get all 32 of our electorals!

By the way - will you be going your way when she steps down, or will you hang out until after the General Election??

I figure the more - uh, 'excited' of the Clinton's supporters will go their way when the hammer falls.....

she has acted though...And Bill, too. What a fucking loss.

I would have an EXTREMELY difficult time putting those two back into the white house.

39. I have always said the reason the Rs hate Bill/Hill ...
is that they play THEIR game, and beat them at it ...

IF that was the only option, to have Hill get into a mudfight to bring the white house back to the Ds, then fine ... But, we, not only the party, but the COUNTRY have a better option ... And, have the chance to move on from Rovian style politics, at least in some measure, with BO ...

Fact is, Hill WAS running a fairly high minded campaign ... When she was the clear front runner ... But, in January, when it BO started to become a viable opponent, she started to shift toward scorched earth mode, and as her hole has become deeper, the more she has just totally fallen into that mode ...

At this point, having turned this nonsense on a fellow Dem, and one who has so consistently in turn taken the high road, I am S I C K and tired of it ...

When this all started, I was more than willing to listen to Hillary. But as this has dragged on, and she has pulled her shenanigans, I have found myself really not liking her at all.

I don't trust her, I think she has a personality disorder -- god only knows we have had a whacko in the WH for almost 8 years, we sure as hell don't need another one!

11. Please don't be hateful; it gives others the excuse to reject what you say.
Just plainly tell the truth. It's hard to live up to the model that Obama sets, but it can be done as long as we tell the truth without including personal insults.

For example: Hillary Clinton voted in support of the IWR ***because*** she needed to be able to say that she is tough when she was ready to run for pResident. She voted to allow the possibility of killing thousands and thousands of innocent people, because she planned to be a candidate for the pResidency.

16. Hillary gives me that "Not so fresh feeling" .
The Richard Mellon Scaife thing blew my mind.
And then there's Limpballs "Operation Chaos".
And then there are the "experience" campaign ads she made for grandpa McSame.
Don't forget the Fox news perpetual hatched job on Obama (oddly leaving Hilly intact).
As if we need more ammo, there are the "obliterate Iran" comments, which were blatant pandering/fund raising attempts.
Can we not establish the fact the the RW is supporting and would rather run against Clinton.
The more the establishment forces of status quo push back on Obama, the more I want him to win!

She and her supporters have no clue that they're being played by the repugs.
She's tired and falling into the repuke pitfalls...best for her to go home now.

And all the people that WOULD have voted for obama the camel-keeper if YOUR own hate didn't make you wear dresses to make people mad, will not vote for osama hussain ladin anymore anyway.

so how do you like it when i start talking like you do to everyone?? does it make you want to vote for Bukanin?? NO it DOESNT. so now you can see what I mean about you!! If you act this way NO ONE will vote for obama of araybia.

21. What finally tipped me into Obama's camp...
...after supporting Edwards---was his expertise on the Constitution and his commitment
to the our democracy--as a Constitutional Scholar who taught law for a decade at the University
of Chicago. I like his stance on restoring Habeas Corpus and his insistence on closing Guantanamo
and ending illegal wiretaps.

I'm not following anyone. Nor am I a part of a cult.

Got any more empty, vapid one liners you want to throw out there? Any more movements--comprised of
millions of Americans--that you want to insult and mis-characterize?

SEN. CLINTON: Well, Chris, I reached out my hand in friendship and unity and my hand is still reaching out. And I look forward to shaking his hand when I see him at the debate in California.
end.

That was when I knew something was seriously fucked up about Hillary. Never liked her before, just didn't know how fucked up she is. I've hopped from Kooch to Edwards, now Obama.

That's what this post was about, the feeling of betrayal that comes from supporting someone who turns against you. I and lots of others supported and defended Hillary for months and months. I still will make myself vote for her if she's the nominee.

Clinton supporters don't have any such story. They supported Hillary when she started, they support her now.

And now I'm a "thuggish hipster", too? Gee, thanks.

18. Many, many people are disgusted with her...
Not just online, but in real life.

I'm a delegate in Iowa, and I've had many, many conversations with Democrats and I
can tell you that there are plenty of people who are sickened by Hillary.

I never liked her politics, but you know what--I'm not ashamed to say that I completely
detest her. Completely. I can't even stand to see her face or hear her voice.

I did not used to feel this way. She earned this contempt.

Like you, I stood up for the Clintons in the 1990's. I adored and revered the Clintons.
I defended Bill through Monica, and I was loyal through it all. I wrote columns supporting
the Clintons, and I even met Bill Clinton and gave him some of my editorials. He wrote
me a nice letter, and it's framed and hanging on my wall.

I didn't leave the Clintons, they left me. And now, they have become completely detestable,
dishonorable people.

It's tragic, but it's their own fault. I'm not going to spend one minute waxing nostalgic
for the Clintons that I loved in the '90's. Those Clintons sold out and are long gone.

Besides, they'll be spinning, lying and generating chaos bright and early tomorrow--with each
day worse than the next.

Have them, express them, let them go.

Hang on to them, make decisions based on them, and then, yes, it screws you up.

Love can poison people too, if they don't let go, if they try to hold it in place as a "thing", if it isn't free, or if it's suppressed.

You can be manipulated by suppression of frustration and anger just as readily.

Anger is a normal, human reaction to many things.

Are you saying that people who are angry are somehow "immoral"?

That sounds like the philosophy of someone repressing on all four cylinders--who eventually
ends up with an addiction or an ulcer--or both.

You'd have to be part of the Borg, to not be angered by Hillary's stunts.

She spent the entire day claiming that she's ahead in the popular vote.

The comment during her speech of "Yes, we will" was simply the last anti-Obama jab I care to hear from her. She's absolutely no clue that she will need the same people she insults, demeans, and ridicules to vote for her if she WINS the nomination. I, for one, won't have anything to do with that. Nothing.
She's become the lowest common denominator reaching for the lowest-hanging fruit to pick. In this case, it's her own party's loyal followers that dare to believe in something other than her.
I believe if I vote for her only out of party loyalty that it chips away at what I believe the Democratic Party is about in the first place. I'd much sooner be happy Independent than an unhappy Democrat in the General Election. Hell... I'm not even overly-happy with our Party now! :)

32. The Clintons have not changed. Their "supporters" have.
Today, the same people who were furious about Monicagate are posting on DU saying Hillary doesn't deserve to be President because she didn't leave Bill. Here on DU, I now see posts that I used to see only on Free Republic (and still do.) I saw those same things being said about the Clintons all through the 90s and now I see them here.

The Clintons were the same Clintons when the Freepers were saying those nasty things about them as they are when ertswhile "Democrats" say them today. Those charges were bullshit then and they're bullshit now. All the supposed racist and Republican statements attributed to Hillary are nothing but spin and politics-as-usual to grown-ups. She has not said a single thing that cannot be justified by discussion or, on one occasion, attributed to an honest mistake (the same kind all people make.)

Wingnuttery is wingnuttery. Paranoia is paranoia. Hatred is hatred. The Clintons are the Clintons.

None of those things have changed.

I think that's the problem.

Neither Bill or Hillary used to go around calling other Democrats elitists, or imply that their Republican opponent was more qualified and capable then their Democratic challenger. When you hear that over and over again, it makes you ask, "Whose side are you on?"

Not all politics have to be Rove-style politics, and I'm saddened that Hillary has chosen the path she has.

34. Maybe you should look honestly at the tactics of Obama
He and his campaign have questioned Clinton's honesty since the beginning of the campaign - character assassination. And those right wing attacks Hillary endured? They were used by Obama as a primary reason for his own electability. So Obama essentially sought to profit from those vicious right-wing attacks - that's pretty low-down.

Perhaps you should consider asking why the extreme level of hate directed at Clinton by so many Obama supporters? Obama himself labeled Hillary "polarizing and divisive, calculating, dishonest, etc." This has been a mainstay of the Obama campaign.

I can see it might be hard to look at this, but maybe it was not the Clintons who duped anyone.

They've always been for Hillary. It is the only thing that will bring out the Right Wing in large numbers in November to vote against her. It is the 2008 version of the gay marriage issue, a wedge issue to guarantee a huge turnout for the Republican side. McCain is not causing much excitement, but by God, Hillary as a Democratic nominee is their wet dream!! Their visceral hatred of Hillary knows no bounds. Hillary would do well to remember to "keep her friends close and her enemies closer". She is an idiot if she hasn't realized this by now. Richard Mellon Scaife, Karl Rove, Rush Limbaugh, the GOP Corporate Media and their ilk are just biding their time and it will be business as usual for them if she manages to steal this nomination. 41. It's good to have these feelings sorted out.
We are entitled to feel betrayed by every member of Congress who has failed to fight (sufficiently) for our interests. Two senators will be on the ballot in November, neither of which has exactly acted the part of working-class hero.

I can't tell you how to feel, but I hope you've mustered even more vehemence against Senator McCain, who has consistently undermined American families for his entire political career. Set aside, if you can (at least in part), the relatively recent betrayal you perceive, and work to send home the Republican with decades of real betrayal under his belt.

We should channel as much of that rage as possible into positive action, to make the next president the best s/he can be. For us.

47. Much of politics reminds me of 'high school'....
The 'cool' kids were the superstars who were always the center of attention.
Many of them had few redeeming qualities (they weren't always the sharpest knife
in the drawer, rarely did they do anything unless it featured them
and they pandered to authority)-They were always in control of any social setting.

Because of these 'social skills' they were exempt of accountability, even with parent and teachers.

Sadly, in high school, most of the rest of us longed to be part of this 'in crowd,' and ignored the abuse the little people take when allowed in the presence of the chosen few.

I think this analogy applies to Geo. W. Bush, and that's how I see the Clintons these days.
They want to be seen as the 'in crowd.' They have inner knowledge of what the country needs. Because I'm just a few years younger than Hillary, I grew up with lots of people like her. I've tried to see beyond the personna she's carved out for herself, tried to see beneath it all to find the real 'girl.'

But she's missed several opportunities to win me over.
Is she someone I'd want to have lunch with?
Someone I'd want to spend an evening gabbing over a bottle of wine?
Is she someone I could telephone at 3 a.m. with a heartbreak?

(Perhaps this is one woman's equivalent of when guys ask:
"Could I have a beer with this candidate?")

I realize its a bogus preposition... but we still hear that: Is this person for real?

So, my reaction to the strutting smugness that seems to be the 'confidence'
that is touted as her 'electability,' is... I don't care for that style of
leadership. It's so 'high school.'

I guess I want someone smarter than me to be president,
I want someone who isn't in love with the words: "I, Me, Mine.."

This ain't a 'woman' thing. If Elizabeth Edwards ran... I'd sell my firstborn
to support her..

Bill has disappointed me horribly. Hillary -- well, I never really thought much of her anyway, always saw her as the opportunist, the power-grabber; so nothing she's done over these last months has surprised me. I am getting sick and tired, though, of the negativity that seems to have such an impact on people whose very futures depend on an intelligent, informed vote for president. The fact that she seems to hold such people in contempt further erodes my respect for her, as well as her apparent impression of POTUS as an entitlement, not a position of trusted leadership that it should be. Just as I don't trust McCain with the job, I trust her even less.

If the election were held today, I could not bring myself to vote for her. And I know I'm not alone, which is why I am so afraid that the strings she pulls to get the nomination will eventually hang us all. If she does get the nomination, I predict a November ass-kicking that will rival that of Walter Mondale's in 1984. And as I keep hoping with every election where Dems seem to always pull the proverbial defeat from the jaws of victory, maybe THAT will be the wake-up call that this party needs.

65. I understand how you feel about her
It has just been in the last month or less that I went from saying I would support her if she were the nominee and trying to keep a positive outlook on both of them to really despising her and manipulating lying win at any cost tactics. If she had really had the better ideas on the issues and was the better candidate she wouldn't have to resort to Repub dirty tricks and lying. It's like every day her campaign goes deeper in the gutter to find something new to throw at Obama. I am so so sick of it. Why don't the SDs endorse whoever they support now? What are they waiting for? Each day this goes on is plus for McCain and the Repubs. If Hillary manages to steal the nom from Obama, I think that the Dem party will have serious problems keeping their majorities in Congress, much less winning the White House. It's really gotten to the point where I can't see much difference between McCain and Clinton, especially after the "obliterate Iran" comment. She has made so many RW comments lately that I don't know if she is a Dem or Repub. It seems like every time she attacks Obama or his campaign, she gives McCain a chance to deny whatever it is and he ends up looking more presidential. It's like they are working together. Sorry, this has turned into a long rant, but it has helped get it off my chest. I guess I am just one of many who are frustrated with this.

... getting close enough to shake her hand and then flipping her the bird... or screaming in her face "YOU'RE A LIAR"... or pelting her with pointy flag pins...

I know it's childish, but those fantasies keep me from going out and doing it for real.

People ask all the time why we hate on Hillary so vehemently. One word answer: BETRAYAL. I defended the Clintons VEHEMENTLY which caused somewhat of a rift between me and my family. But to them now I am just a latte-sipping, Prius-driving, brainwashed, naive hippy. MoveOn was one of the few groups to support Bill in his time of need. Now they are just crazy, left-wing, radical activists. Loyalty is a one way street to the Clintons. They DEMAND your support, but would throw you off the side of a cliff if it suited them. They operate through THUGGERY and ARM-TWISTING. The way they are constantly vaguely threatening Pelosi and Dean and the DNC and the DCCC? TRAITOROUS. Using Republican smear tactics against a fellow Democrat? BLASPHEMY. Her own behavior and lies? MONSTROUS.

She's no more a democrat than Joe Lieberman or Zell Miller. And they are PIECES OF SHIT disguised as GARBAGE disguised as SLEAZY POLITICIANS.

No wait... she's WORSE than those two, because she's doing more damage.

I have no pity for her. I don't feel bad about hating her. And most days I just wish by some stroke of luck a meteor would fall from the sky and strike her directly in her big yellow head.

Oops. There I go with my daydreams again.

100. It's a natural reaction to what is going on. No worries, you're fine.

105. I feel the same...
I can't believe that I was pulling for her in the beginning, maybe it is good it has gone on this long so that we could all see how D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-E she really is and how she will do anything to win.

I have tried to control myself when I am on this board because there are many things I feel like saying as I watch her lie day after day after day...

Last night I felt like someone else on board who said they shot the television as I switched from station to station hearing this so called pundits try to paint Obama as who they want him to be...I couldn't take it anymore and then I turned on the radio and who did I hear but that asshole Lionel..
