Clinton Supporters, It's Time to Start "Getting It" |
|
Your candidate is now in such a position that she has been relegated to campaigning solely by lies, strong-arm tactics, whining, and denial. This is what happens when a race is what is called "over." This is what happens in the face of cold, hard numbers.
It's time to start racheting down the loyal and loving arguments for Clinton and start the process of accepting the reality that Barack Obama will be our nominee, and our next President. Clinton will not be blowing out Obama at the level she needs to in the coming primaries- in fact, she will only fall further behind, and catching Obama will become less and less feasible.
And please do not rest your hopes on the possibility that the superdelegates will overturn the decision of our voters. They simply will not do that.
I said the same thing to Edwards supporters when it became apparent that he wasn't going anywhere. They got angry, and no doubt you will too, especially since Clinton has come this far. But someone has to lose. Someone's supporters have to get hurt. You just picked the wrong candidate. I'm sorry.
Yes, I'm sorry, but this needs to be said. Honestly, what we're seeing from Clinton folks now is starting to look a little desperate. A little pathetic. The whole thing is getting rank from her side.
And I was a Dean supporter in 2004- I've been through this too. I know what it feels like. I was angry, just like you are. But I stepped back and looked at the bigger picture. I looked inside myself and reminded myself of what was important.
It's over. Please accept it.
Thanks.

1. Thanks for your concern. I am sorry I appeared desperate. |
|
I will try harder in the future to look less desperate and perhaps more arrogant.
And if it were over, Obama wouldn't be campaigning.
If it were over, influential Members of the House wouldn't have endorsed Hillary Clinton since Saturday.

My integrity is intact
Just like ...
Tim Ryan, Debbie-Wasserman Schultz, and Kendrick Meek.
Remember them? They were the foot-soldiers in the 2006 House takeover.
They were the voices behind Speaker Pelosi's 30Something Working Group.
Something tells me that Pelosi's comments are being misintrepreted...

23. Obama was the most requested surogate in the country in 2006. |
|
He campaigned in more states than any other democrat and drew the largest crowds. The 30-Something Working Group made some good speeches on C-Span.

Yes, they'll get angry (as I did when people said it about Edwards). May as well just let things play out the way they will.

9. Almost ALL of us went through the process of losing our first choice. |
|
What makes the current Hillary supporters different is their willingness to slash and burn their way into the position.
Simply put, their self-avowed strategy is an undemocratic slimefest of destruction. Namely to convince the super delegates that it is too "dangerous" to put this (BLACK MAN!) young senator as the nominee.
No path to the nomination by any clean method. So destruction is all they got. Destruction and maybe a 2012 run.
They fail to see that she has wounded her own reputation in the process. A festering wound that will lead to her political death as well as perhaps the political death of her opponent.

|
folks. lets say that hrc has dropped out and then all this ayers, wright exploded on the scene and the dem candidate is wounded, and wounded bad. Where would the dems go? we would be stuck with this sorry excuse for a nominee and would certainly lose the november election.....i say to all you obama folks, you better be glad hrc is in this thing until the end because if someone else drops something on obama or something else drops that is so damn bad even the whoremedia cannot repair obama, then at least we still have a candidate in this race.....
oh I bet there will be something big that drops soon against obama.....uh huh

12. Obama may well be our nominee, but he will not be our next President. |
|
That's just one reason why we Hillarites will fight, fight and fight again to save the Party we love. We're not about to "accept" like lemmings and let the Obamatrons lead us over a cliff. Obama maybe be the nominee, Hillary may be the nominee, if enough SuperDs hang back and we get to a second ballot at the convention, Al Gore could be our nominee. Nothing's set in stone yet, and thank God: if it's Barack's name that's set in stone, it's a tombstone for our chances in November.

Personally, I don't see how you could think Clinton is more electable than Obama, though.
Of course, I would LOVE to see Al Gore as our nominee. I was extremely pissed myself when he didn't run.

the vast majority of whom are not "obamtrons." You know, the ones that just voted for the candidate of their choice.
Just who the fuck are you to say THEIR wishes as expressed by their votes are worthless??
Who the fuck set you up as all knowing, all seeing, grand poobah??
You don't speak for me.
I'll risk my candidate, thank you, because I believe he can win the election, because I think he's best for the job.
You? well, I don't give a fuck what you do.

26. You might want to realize that when you insult our candidate, we tend to think ill of you |
|
and we don't believe a single fucking word you have to say! Now, isn't that special?
If it's so "over" then why are you so desperate to "convince" us? Why even bother? What's the point, if it's so "over?"
Unless...ooooh...maybe it ISN'T over!! Ya think?
But you have a nice day, now! Oh, and don't worry about us getting ANGRY at you--you're clearly anxious, vexed, desperate and upset, so a bit of sympathy is probably more in order.
:hi:
And keep smiling! Uh...HONESTLY!!!
PSSST--Why don't you try saying something NICE about YOUR candidate for a change, instead of frantically trying to shit on ours? Hmmmm? Think real hard, surely you can come up with SOMETHING...!

Tell your candidate not to show up at the next primary state, then, if it's so "over."

I've tried. As smitten as some of the more reverent Obama people can be, nothing matches these blind-as-a-bat Hillarian hardcore acolytes. They're always acting like they're reaching for a prayer rug.

30. I defended Bill Clinton against his detractors in the impeachment proceedings |
|
and have stood by Hillary Clinton when she has been the target of dismissive characterizations by the Hannitys and Limbaughs out there on the public airwaves.
She was doing relatively well through the winter, with only one real lapse of judgment with Billy Shaheen's comments for the New Hampshire primary.
Then came Bill's unfortunate remark in South Carolina.
And not long after that, the Ferraro interview on FOX with John Gibson.
And somewhere or other in there the praise of John McCain as patriotic and able versus mere-speech status of a fellow Democrat.
Strike three.
