OBAMA SUPPORTERS-Here's a project to help GOTV in INDIANA (Postcards To Undecideds)
Edited on Fri Apr-25-08 10:27 AM by mod mom
Our Obama volunteer office in Ohio is coordinating sending POSTCARDS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY FROM OBAMA SUPPORTERS TO:

Undecided Working Class Voters in Indiana.

If you'd like to participate, here is what to do:

1. Write appropriate positive reasons why you support Senator Obama.

2. The postcards should have an appropriate photo.

3. Stamp each postcard.

4. Leave room for an address to be place on the right side of the postcard.

5. Postmark no later than Monday-if later make no reference to Indiana as they will be sent to WV and KY voters.

Please send Postcards to:

Obama Volunteer Headquarters
193 E Rich Street
Columbus, OH 43215

We will screen them for content (don't want any negative comments), and address them with Indiana undecided working class voter addresses.

PS We have gotten positive feedback from the Postcard for Pennsylvania project!

9. That's cute.
Actually what I was wondering was, did the OP want to play up the "Hi, I'm from another state," angle with postcards that featured our local highlights, or did they want us to do more generic kinds of things, like puppies and flowers and so on. :D

10. This is the card I use
for writing Congress.

Doesn't have to be checked for anthrax, and might get the attention of office staff.

We sell all kinds of dog stuff, and I swear hardly anybody gets the Irish Setter right, especially on textiles, like needlepoint pillows and accessories.

Do you have postcards of Tasha?

they suggest postcards reflective of your state. I got an email about this and they were recommending that.

wants advice for whom to vote from a Texan?

18. I was just saying that
that is what they were asking for. I don't know why it would matter either way. And, I don't see it as advice more than a testimonial. I think most of the issues that we are voting on are national issues, so why not?

33. Oops..
Dur, totally my fault for not catching that one... I'm a temporary Texan, so I was thinking of Louisiana when I wrote that.

Very good point... they should put a disclaimer, any state but Texas. :P

15. Yes, Usual postcard scenery. The ones I saw that were pulled were
artwork nudes (afraid someone might be offended, and Darth Vader (didn't want receiving voters to take it the wrong way. We processed tens of thousands and had so few (a handful) rejected (mainly derogatory comments about HRC.

35. Sure but the key is to get them to the volunteer headquarters
ASAP, they will do the rest.

Just say you want them to be saved for those states.
Now you'll have to check to see what that states rules for voting are first.

AND, you'll have to see what demographic they want you to target on the cards.

34.  I'm on my way to the pick up 300 of the postcards/stamps now

I'm going to a party for my friend tonight.
I'm putting the stamped postcards in my purse and have rubber bands around sets of ten

Put the directions on each set of ten and pass them out to your friends!

Let's hurry and get as many Obama supporters involved this weekend and we can make a difference.

Then those friends can pass it on and get their own postcards and do the same thing for their friends.

If you can get the postcards for 15 cents like I did the last time, with the 26 cent stamps, it will cost you about $125

You can also ask your friends that don't have the time to get the stamps/postcards to give you a donation and that will help you keep spreading the word.

If anyone knows how to get postcards cheaper than 15 cents let us know.

*That will work for IA and all other states

My Mom is putting on the stamps! She is my "GOMAMA."
