Rioting In Denver
Edited on Fri Apr-25-08 04:26 PM by otohara
Rush Limbaugh isn't calling for Republican's to travel to Denver to riot. Why would he do that, when he knows damn will that the rioters he dreams of.... will be Democrats themselves.

If a certain scenario happens like the media keeps perpetuating along with a certain candidate, you might see an angry reaction.

Colorado voted overwhelmingly (66.6%) for Barack Obama. The largest number of registered voters in Colorado are Independents, most of them favor Barack Obama. (many are of college age)

The City of Denver was all Barack Obama - 67%

There's plenty of people in Denver who will be beside themselves if through these super-duper super-delegates, the popular vote and pledged delegate vote is overturned.

I'm a little worried.

1. The supers may be unfair, but they are NOT stupid.
They know exactly what is up, the political and mathematical calculus.

They are going to go with the winner, and soon. It won't make it to Denver.

3.  Pick a nominee based on fear?
Pretty sad don't you think? Ya'll gonna riot when Obama loses to McCain?

5. I am not talking about rioting.
I am talking about the SUperdelegates going with the winner because they understand politics and fundraising.

My point was it is stupid for anyone to talk about riots, because it will never get to that scenario. Even if it did, it would just divide the party, not start riots.

Settle down.

15. Of course he is. Let him wallow in it. We need to be planning
how to support our candidate and where to celebrate his election. :)

4. FIle a complaint with the FCC...
Rush is inciting people to riot. Isn't that illegal? In any case, he needs to be taken off the airwaves for this crap.

11. He is trying to divide the Dems on race lines
He has been instructing repukes to cross over and vote for HIllary to keep her in, and is now hoping to push Hillary's argument so that she will take the nomination. Then, the race lines will turn into race riots.

8. BTW send the FCC a complaint on Rush
trying to incite a riot over the airwaves. I have a feeling this is not legal.
I would go here - http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_general.html
then choose - Form 2000 in the middle of the page then select
Form 2000D - Emergency or Public Safety Complaint

Or at least that what looks to me like it applies.

14. Oh, otohara....
I just can't believe that this will happen. I don't know what people will do if they come in from other places specifically to cause trouble. But Denver has never struck me as a town on the verge of breaking out in violence if pushed.

I've been here 32 years next month. The Denver area seems so much more sensible to me. Aways has. I don't know about how sensible the cops are. But the citizenry is one of a kind and very special.

Someone needs to take Rush to task and shut this madness act of his right down.

I'm worried that you're worried.

16. Rush wants
Democrats to riot. He wants a repeat of '68 Chicago. That event didn't help the Democrats at all. I was there and all that chaos shown on National television freaked out a whole bunch of voters.

As long as Rush thinks he can influence the chaos in the Democratic Party he will continue to do so. If the Party becomes so polarized that there are big demonstrations he'll be thrilled.

18. No worries, women don't riot
They just go back to the kitchen and bang some pots and pans around.

19. No one will riot
That is fear mongering and this is 2008. We have moved beyond that point in this country, because every single riot that has ever occurred in this country results in the public turning against the rioters.

No one will riot, it's all a bunch of political fear mongering. This is not 1968.

20. If rioting erupts near the Pepsi Center, the Rocky Mountains will get angry and fight back.
They're large and can be rather mean.

Just sayin'...
