52. Her campaign is CONSTANLY implying this
That's exactly what the whole "electability" BS is about. Open your eyes.

Personally, I think she's dead wrong. I give American voters much more credit than that. I think we are finally at the tipping point in history where most Americans will vote (are voting!) for the best candidate, regardless of their background.

Frankly, I think it's sad and shows how out-of-touch she is for her to imagine she can still benefit from this kind of divisiveness in this day and age. She's sorely mistaken if she thinks the closeted (an not-so-closeted) bigots she gains will offset the progressive voters of all races she is losing with these deplorable tactics.

And I'd hazard a guess the Obama camp is doing just as much discussion about Wright as the Clinton camp.

66. Not, it's not. Pushing it to SDs to keep them from voting for him is. And are you joking again about
Obama pushing Wright? As much as the Clintons ?!?!?! I think it's fair to say he'd like to see a lot less of Wright's name being used.

Fortunately, though, hillary has lost, so we won't have to discuss her own child-molesting preacher.

67. You think discussing the impact of Wright on the Obama campaign with superdelegates is racist?
Jeez, step out of GDP and get some fresh air.

But before you do, don't try to put words in my mouth as glibly as you do Clintons. The Obama campaign is surely discussing, not "pushing", the impact of Wright as much the Clinton camp.

I don't know if you have a reading problem, a thinking problem or an honesty problem.

It must be the latter because of your extraneous comment about child molesting. Feel free to continue that discussion in the comfort of your own home.

14. Think of it like this. You have a choice between prime rib and t bone steak. Some folks like
t-bone steak better, some like prime rib better.

They take the t-bone steak off the menu, because she lost.

Now your choice is between prime rib and over-cooked bacon.

What would you chose? Even if you are pissed at the restaurant because they took the t-bone off the menu?

A few folks say, 'I don't care if I starve,' I'll never order the prime rib because I liked the t-bone steak better. But not that many do. Instead most have a nice prime rib dinner.

but are you willing to go out to a restaurant if the Tbone isn't on the menu? voting isn't a passive act, it takes effort. Look at all the republicans who stayed home for bob dole, against the hated Clinton, if you think people just automatically vote.

29. They won't either way
Hillary is going to lose huge blocks of supporters just as important as working class whites when the African Americans and younger voters stay home. They both have the same problem.

But Obama has WAY more pull in Independents as he has shown in every open primary, and that makes up the difference.

So please, enough with the white demographic bullshit.

31. OH and PA, her two big victories, were closed primaries
In open primaries like Wisconsin he has only trailed her slightly with this demo, and beat her two to one because of his strength everywhere else.

The Independent vote is the difference for him, but it doesn't show up in places like PA and OH.

33. its a flawed assumption that if you voted for someone and they didn't
get the nod, then you won't vote for the one who did. right now, it is a race between two people. Once one is eliminated, then people will do what they ALWAYS HAVE DONE and vote for the other person.

41. allow me to remind you of why that statement is meaningless
even with record turnout, only 15 million people have cast ballots in the democratic primaries this year. Whoever wins in November will need 60+ million. So even if every primary voter does as you say and votes the party, you are only twenty five percent of the way there. Those 45 million votes are where your residual sexism, racism, etc come into play.

early nineties I was visiting a friend there and it had mushroomed and sprawled from mountain range to mountain range all across the valley.

I really enjoyed the street/art fair and the people. My friend lived in an old historic adobe house with walls a foot and a half thick. I like Tucson also.

And actually, it's really not that deep of a red at all......

Mind you, that's the 2004 map, and it was more or less solid purple then.

Before Iraq got worse. Before Chimpy's popularity plummeted. Before KPHX went on the air in Phoenix.

I suspect there will be a lot more blue in AZ this time around. And if the winter bullshit weather doesn't stop here in Washington state, I'm gonna move down there myself.

They could vote for McLoony, just to get rid of him, I guess. I heard that's what a lot of people did in Texas.

45. Explain something to me.
If the argument is that Hillary will win those states in the GE because she carried them in the primaries...

Then does that mean any candidate who carries a state in the primary will win that state in the general? And if so, does that mean Hillary Clinton will carry Texas? And does it also mean that she'll lose Illinois, because she lost it in the primary? I mean, the argument is that Obama would lose New York because Hillary carried it, so why shouldn't it work the other way around too?

Also, since John McCain won the same states in his primary that Hillary Clinton won, then how does that work out? Why wouldn't John McCain carry California instead of Hillary Clinton? He won the primary there too, and the state has a Republican governor.

The argument that a state won in the primary equals a state won in the general is specious.

55. Pay attention and keep up
Just about every Obama supporter on DU said they wouldn't vote for Hillary in the GE and we all know why. They just need to come out and be honest with everyone on the discussion board. They can save the irrelevant excuses and just come out and be honest.

56. Once again, you post bullshit.
The great majority of DUers will vote Hillary if she wins the majority of pledged delegates.

82. I get so confused.

Are working-class whites;
A) uniformly, universally and inherently racist or
B) color-blind, inspired and going to vote for Obama when he is nominated.

It depends on the question being asked, of course. If an Obama supporter is trying to explain why anyone would vote for that icky, icky Hillary, the answer is A. If you're arguing that Obama should be nominated and that the questions of electability are a smoke-screen and should be discounted, the answer is B.

Really, you can't have it both ways. I think that B is closer to the truth, but I do think that Obama's coattails (as they pertain to congressional races) are significantly shorter.

84. It's weird, right? Their argument is essentially "Dems are too racist to vote for a black man".
Not exactly an endearing argument.
