19. Yup. It didn't have to be but the FUBAR sure makes it one. |
|
If McCain picks Romeny for VP, the Democrats can kiss Michigan goodbye.

10. What about those four big, empty Great Plains states (Wyoming, Montana, and the Dakotas)? |
|
I heard somewhere that Obama might turn at least one of them blue.

15. Not a fucking chance in Wyoming or South Dakota. |
|
Montana, maybe depending on how bad the economy gets. North Dakota I saw a poll, but I don't believe it at all. We lost the state by 22 points last time. I don't see it moving that much. Montana is much softer in terms of Republican support.

It's crazy, and it only has 3 electoral votes, but if Obama is the nominee the polls show it going Democratic for the first time since 1964.
And I believe that this is symptomatic of something that is happening nationwide.

Yes, Texas.
A lot of Texas conservatives aren't down with John McCain, so they might sit this election out.
In the meantime, Texas Democrats are getting mobilized and actually getting a few people elected here and there.
If Dems were to win Texas in the GE, it would be a game changer.

22. How about all of the dominant black vote states? |
|
Mississippi, NC, SC, Alabama, Gerogia, Virginia
Obama takes out 90% of the black votes and those states have 20-30% african americans.

are Nebraska Republicans and they are all for Obama including my 94 yr old Mother-in-law. She has never voted for a Democrat for president. She says McCain is just a senile old fart and she loves Obama:shrug:

I know Flying Squirrel named it already, but it is important to recognize that Oregon could be a swing state. 2000 and 2004 were both fairly close.
