After Watching the Moyers/Wright Interview, It's Clear Why Hillary Would Not Have Him as Her Pastor.
Rev. Wright is there to offer hope, comfort and encouragement to those oppressed by the ruling elite.

Rev. Wright's teachings would not be comfortable for someone who believed force was justified in invading a sovereign country.

Rev. Wright's teachings would not be compatible with her belief that dropping Cluster Bombs on Civilian Populations should be allowed and protected by law.

Rev. Wright's teachings would not tolerate a political leader threatening to "obliterate" other sovereign countries.

I get it. Hillary was telling the truth when she said she would not have the honorable Rev. Wright as a Pastor.

Truth told? Jesus would have knocked over our temple tables ages ago.
I got spit on once for carrying a sign with that Jefferson quote about trembling and a "just God."

So I'm really not surprised at the Rev. Wright reaction.

Saddened. But not really surprised.

18. Emily, did you watch the interview?
If so, can you tell me what bothered you about it? Because to me, he seemed to be spot on on nearly everything (the only thing I have trouble with being the concept of God, period). I'd be curious to hear your reasoning, and whether or not it's based on anything more than the soundbites we've been fed by people who never have a Democrats best interest at heart, or by his actual words and deeds in context. Because I have to be honest, the people harping on him don't look very smart to me the more I see of the man, and the more I actually listen to him without the cloud of support for one candidate or the other. Remove the politics from this and genuinely look at the man.

31. You must not have heard him. He is a Holy Man!
Bill Moyers interviews the Reverend Jeremiah Wright in his first broadcast interview with a journalist since he became embroiled in a controversy for his remarks and his relationship with Barack Obama. Wright, who retired in early 2008 as pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where Senator Obama is a member, has been at the center of controversy for comments he made during sermons, which surfaced in the press in March.

Part Two: http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/04252008/watch2.html

April 25, 2008

More than 3,000 news stories have been penned since early April about Jeremiah Wright and Barack Obama. But behind the five second loop is a man who has preached three different sermons nearly every Sunday since 1972. In his interview on BILL MOYERS JOURNAL, Reverend Wright discusses what drew him to the pulpit and the recent controversy surrounding him.

This man of God was stoking fear and blame and hate within his congregation, and directed it all at Hillary Clinton.

And if you agree with it then you are welcome to your opinion.

42. He equated Hillary with those responsible for countless years of opression.
He then brought it to present day to use Hillary as the current example of white oppression.

You watch it again.

He whipped up a crowd against Hillary while praising Obama. He got that crowd emotionally angry and then pointed them at Hillary. She's evil. She's white.

You see what you want to see. I know what I saw.

59. Does Hillary know the struggle of being a working class
person in post Reagan/Bush/Clinton/Bush laissex faire capitalist america?

Heck does she know what it is to be WORKING CLASS and depend upon a paycheck to survive? She grew up the Republican daughter in an upper middle class suburb of Chicago.

Barack Obama may be rich now but inside him is the son of a single working class mom.

I DON'T THINK SO,....

Park Ridge.,...RICH

South Side Chicago...working class

The two rarely meet on a level playing ground.

Only in America would the former Goldwater girl, former board member of Wal-Mart be called a champion of the working class and a former community organizer be called elitist and out of touch.

Is it any wonder why we have had eight years of the dumbest least intellectually curious president in the history of the free world? Oy vey!

43. America is not a Blessed Country. Nor is any other nation specifically Blessed
Even Israel has a covenant relationship with God, not promises of
blessings. Read Isaiah or Job.

On the other hand, Jesus and the prophets repeatedly cursed the
RULERS of Israel, and even went so far as to suggest they were
illegitimate.

Unpatriotic anyone?

That pastor on Tweety said that Obama must discredit "all religious
beliefs that are against the national interests of the US" I guess
that includes traditional Christian teachings about social justice,
governance, and pacifism eh?

The only thing I find remarkable is how unable pink tutu Dems are to

Hagee, etc.

Leave McCain's name out of it if you insist on taking the high road.
Merely ask him to "reject and denounce" as Obama was asked McCarthyistically to do.

but most Americans would have left the church.
