Would we call her President Hillary???? |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-26-08 05:12 PM by sparosnare
She isn't called Senator Hillary.
So why does everyone call her by her first name and why does her campaign paste HILLARY all over their paraphernalia? Do they not want people to get confused, or are they trying to confuse people?
And then what would happen if she snatches the nomination from Obama and picked, say, Evan Bayh to be her running mate? Would all the bumper stickers say Hillary/Bayh 08?
To my recollection, there has never been a woman politician who has campaigned on her first name only.
Maybe a Hillary supporter could explain this strange phenomenon to me.

16. It's a deliberate ploy to capitalize on her womanhood for political gain |
|
To humanize and make her the "kinder gentler" fucking blitzkrieg. To disassociate her from her husband's negatives. All PR, All spin, ALL the time.
She is Clinton to me.
She is not even Senator Clinton... except as necessary.
To distinguish her from the former President in a paragraph... "Hillary," sometimes ... but that's probably when I should use "Senator Clinton," not her first name.
I've been doing this for months.
I don't know why people insist on the first name thing. We're electing a President, not Office Admin. It's unprofessional and part of the PR.
We should never let them frame the discussion for us... or dictate the terminology.

19. She will be "Former Democratic Presidential Primary Candidate Hillary" |
|
And I hope the media dedicates a camera just for her...as she is sitting in the audience listening to President Obama's inauguration speech. Maybe they can seat her right next to Sen. McCain so we can watch the two of them consoling each other.
