Ex Obama Mentor Alice Palmer ..
Barack Obama has positioned himself in the Democratic race as the harbinger of the new politics who will single-handedly clean up Washington and rid government of the influence of lobbyists, etc., etc.

In spite of the fact that he's been exposed several times for coduct unbecoming a secular Saint, Obama continues to boast of a spotless record. He also conveniently forgets some of the roughshod tactics he's used for his political advancement.

Christi Parsons at the Swamp (Chicago Tribune) reminds potential voters of an unsavory incident in Obama's history involving another Illinois state senator that has recently come back to haunt Obama on the campaign trail in Indiana.

Obama plays hard ball, abrassive and corrossive politics the chicago style. Ms. Palmer's experience is not new news - its only that the news media has decided to look the other way while presenting

17. Lol. Let it sink as Obama supporters cover their eyes and ears and shout
lalalala to avoid hearing TRUTH about Obama. How is it that you can consider yourself an informed voter if you don't listen to what Obama does?

2. So? What's the problem?
The woman said she wasn't running. She hand picked Obama and brought him around introducing him as the new candidate for her seat. (In fact, she introduced him to William Ayers at the infamous gathering at Ayers' house.) He was fundraising, had built a campaign organization, and she changed her mind. She had problems with her petitions and he was smart enough to find them. That's politics.

11. Ms. Palmer even agrees
that he told her, he would not run if she didn't want him to, but once he started fundraising and campaigning, he wasn't going to stop so he asked her to be sure. He didn't have to do that. She went along with it, until she changed her mind and tried to cheat. He was more than fair with her. She should show him the same courtesy.

21. Does anybody not get the simple illogicality of this story?
Now, I don't know all of the facts, but...

Does Obama not have the authority, or even moreso an obligation, to challenge phony signatures?

If they were real signatures they would have held up. Sounds like his former Chicago rivals are the ones playing a bit of Chicago-style politics.

Looks to me like Obama caught them with their pants down doing what they'd always gotten away with -- fudging signatures. I say good for him.
