I actually watched FOX this morning. |
|
Barack was brilliantly himself--calm, in control, and absolutely presidential. He thoughtfully answered every question, handled the tired, old red herrings, and maintained a dignified dialog, even with the likes of Chris Wallace. Talk about Grace under fire! I venture to say he won over some Republicans today.

1. That's great to hear. I'm gonna watch it at 2PM, but I'm afraid my TV will explode |
|
when I switch it onto Fox. I'll have to put plastic over all the furniture first...

refuse to be bullied by the insanely criminal ideology of republicanism. :dem:

7. is he betraying the party? Is he a traitor? |

Or is this another double standard? When on FoxNews and Obama--you are reaching across the isle. When Clinton and on FoxNews you are betraying the party.

3. this was also my reaction. |

Very reassuring. Barack was at his best, and Chris was uncharacteristically deferring. I agree that Obama probably won over some Republicans, as well as undecided Dems, today. Made my morning.

4. Thanks for the report. |
|
I've noted over the past LONG weeks that Obama consistently demonstrates "grace under fire."
I didn't have the strength to listen to FOX Cable news today so thanks for doing so and reporting back. :hi:

14. he was civil in asking gotcha talking points |
|
he asked repeatedly about Wright and Ayers, about black voters and Clyburn, about "his inability to win white working class voters." But it was a civil discussion and he didn't interrupt. It allowed the questions to be asked without deteriorating into the mess that happened on ABC.

I (ulp) turned on Fox News this AM and an ad said the show is on at 6PM EDT. ___ The Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy, now at my new home: Correntewire.com

11. He did very well and didn't give Wallace anything he could nibble on |
|
He was tough and classy. And like you said, he probably got a few Republicans to admire him as well.

13. I got up early, steeled myself with black coffee, and watched... |
|
Chris Wallace is an anus, and Obama was more than polite to him.
I wish he'd had been more 'steely' but he's cool...
Even the 'panel' that sliced and diced the interview had some good things to say, but O'Reilly and Hannity (the loquacious leprechauns) haven't had their chance to jump into the fray. But its' coming...
I predict that tomorrow morning, the MSNBC idiots Scarborough/Buchanan/CArlson/Matthews will be foaming at the lips over some new fresh-red-meat soundbyte from this interview (and the fact that Obama sat down with FOX! The nerve of him!)
AND the Moyers/ WRight interview. Face it, MSNBC was scooped..

the right wing site I read (to monitor the opposition) is ballistic that Chris Wallace is a closet liberal and did nothing but throw Obama softballs. I knew right then that BO had done great! Going to watch it now.
