Hillary showed great leadership by asking for Rummy to resign
Edited on Sun Apr-27-08 11:59 AM by mdmc
So did McCain.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton (and the Mac, of course) will not abandoned all the Iraqis that have collaborated with America.

They will fight the war smarter, not surrender.

1. Actually, the great leadership should have come before the bad decision to invade Iraq.
That was when the bus could have been saved from the ditch.

After Hillary and McCain drove the bus into the ditch we were screwed.

4. Honestly, do you really think BO would have voted against the
invasion?

If you think he would have, God bless you. The truth of it is, even great men like John Kerry voted for the war. I doubt Obama would have sided with the peaceniks back then, especially with a name like Obama.

Do you really think he would have talked the talk and walked the walk back then?

9. First things first..................
I never considered John Kerry a great man, but at least he apologized for his vote which is more than I can say for Hillary.

Second, Obama took a stand against the war when it was unpopular to do so.

10. He did -- He was running for office back then.
He could have easily followed the strategy of kerry and Clinton back then and taken the political "safe" (hahaha) decision not to stand against Bush's obvious rush to war.

12. Yes I do.
Anyone with half a brain could have figured out what would happen, and Obama didn't see much of a threat from Iraq.

You think that someone who called it "stupid" would vote for it? Now THAT would be stupid.

3. In August of '06, everyone was calling for Rummy's resignation.
Did she call for it in '04 with other Dems? If she did, I can't find it on the google.

11. In '04, Lieberman said Democrats' calls for Rummy to resign
was a 'distraction'. By August '06, he was calling for Rummy's resignation. I don't think Clinton's calls at the same time as Lieberman's was leadership. More like bandwagon jumping.
I will give her credit when it's due, but she can't claim any leadership on this, IMO.

I do agree with you on the heroes part.

where's the leadership in that? I don't think it even makes a good sound byte when you know it will fall on deaf ears. Any sane person knew they were lying about war and Rummy would never resign. Even stupid Bush didn't have the common sense to fire him before 06 elections.
