The "Beat Obama" Playbook...by Hillary Clinton |
|
Edited on Sun Apr-27-08 06:11 PM by SoCalDem
Some nutso republican today was thanking her for writing the playbook for THEM to use against Obama..
The kicker:
Obama's hands will not be tied or his tongue silenced ... against McCain.
Anyone who thinks that Obama was timid, is mistaking the man..
He was being POLITE and GENEROUS to his opponent...but he was doing it because he knew he needed to be able to appeal to her supporters, and because there was no avenue for him to get to the required number without the super delegates.
He is a black man running against an older white lady..There is nothing he can do about that fact..and that older white lady is also a former First Lady..and she has her goofball husband running WITH her (the shadow-president)..
He cannot go ballistic on THEM without being perceived as a cocky upstart... a bully.. THEY can and DO bash the hell out of him, because that's the way they campaign, and apparently their supporters enjoy a slimy campaign.
But McCain is NOT a former first lady..
so look for a whole new approach from Obama in the fall.. He is more mentally agile than John Mccain ,and I don't see him shrinking from reviving John McCain's Greatest Hits..a la
Keating 5, Bedtime with Lobbyists, Flip-Flop Floogie, Glue Factory Maverick, Let them Eat Cake, Bomb-Bomb-Bomb Iran, Sunni-Potato/Shi'a-Potahto, My Baby Loves Vicodin, MLK Day-No Way..etc
Obama had to wear kid gloves to handle the "nasty little lady"..but it will be bare-knuckles with McCain..

Are you now an Obama strategist? So far, all talk, as usual, and no action!

I expect the verbal sparring will have Obama trouncing McCain as surely as if it were a real boxing match. In the end McCain will go prison-crazy and start slashing at eyeballs, but Obama is going to use Iraq like a set of brass knuckles.

Agreed on all counts. It is going to be a totally different message and a totally different race than what we are seeing today.

grace and good humor, no doubt, but the gloves will have to come off.

Did you just see Andrea refusing to get OFF the Wright issue with Bradley? Everything he mentioned, she immediately went back to "...but Wright this and wright that.."
and of course she completely sidestepped his suggestion that the media follow the money regarding Clinton's library money & pardons..
