"Cloverfield" movie an allegory for Democratic primary race!
I was watching this movie with the girlfriend tonight (excellent movie, BTW), and it became pretty interesting that this movie can be seen as an allegory to this cycle's Democratic primary... Hear me out!

Cloverfield monster = Hillary Clinton:

  1. Cloverfield monster lands in New York. (Hillary gets elected to Senate.)

  2. Cloverfield monster breeds parasites as a result of its birthing. (Pundits attack anybody who stands in her way.)

  3. Cloverfield monster lashes out like a scared animal at anything in its path. (Hillary will destroy the party in order save the party.)

  4. Cloverfield monster requires great effort to defeat. (Hillary will need Democrats everywhere to vote her out.)

And lastly, I think the photographic evidence should convince everybody who doubts. The similarities are absolutely striking:

Cloverfield monster:

Hillary Clinton:

3. Here are my thoughts : That is one lame movie that any 12 year old could have filmed.

Also, the Hillary analogy is lame too. Perhaps there would be better jokes if you would have seen Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.

5. I'd like to compare Hillary vs. Obama supporters...
In relation to their opinion of this film....

I bet the Hillary supporters mostly hate it, and the Obama supporters mostly loved it (which is the correct opinion to have).

6. Dude, it is a stupid, wannabe Blair Witch Project movie, was less then 1:25min cause it had no ideas
And 20-25 of those were spent in dis-jointed running through concrete tunnels while your all too typical 'langoliers' scampered across the ceiling dropping unto their unknowing ass, oh! And exploding blood in a sterile room ala Alien...now there's a fresh idea :eyes:

But, I'll give you this: they were just like Obama supporters in that 'the action' centered round a cadre of whiny, 'all I want to do is bang on the drum all day', early 20-somethings utterly unprepared for the dangers of life as presented by a world clearly beyond their knowledge not to mention day planners & Rolodex' filled with daddy's credit cards, limos, and chauffers rimming central park and from a high-rise vantage point.

I refer to her as Godzillary; but if you are unable to see what that idiot movie Gloverfield was trying to import...then you need to stay out of the tea leaf reading business no doubt.

Besides, you have to really try to be so herky-jerky in your camera work to pull off an effect like that. It's like they were holding the camera with their feet, be serious. Pick another movie round which to be so giddy
