Original message
No matter how this presidential election finally transpires...
We, the people, have been enriched by the gifts of the presence
of Barack Obama, his family, and his pastor.
Oh, I'm not saying he is the Messiah; But something is different....

No matter what battles we shall fight in the future,
the doors that kept locked up any conversation about race have been flung open.

There has been so much talking, yet we have much listening yet to do;
there's bee much anguish, so many tears, and yet... we have turned a corner.
We have further to go, and yet something's happened....

We see one another in a very different light; we realized we've been hoodwinked
by those who've controlled our media, our airwaves....
we've been made 'wiser' by those who bravely spoke out...
of course there's consternation, conflict, and anxiety,
but this is a beginning.

You can't lock up the truth forever.

Tonight, after Rev. Wright's speech, the talking heads of the MSM
had nothing to say. And those who tried their 'best' were feeble imitators
of the voice of reason.

Tomorrow there will be MOnday Morning quarterbacking,
but tonight.. we start on a new path.....

No matter how this election turns out, we will not be the same.
No matter who finally cross the finish line,
WE, the people, will be the winners.
Because of the bravery of a few people who weren't afraid to speak the truth.

As we heard tonight: A change is going to come.

28. Mr Feb surprised me by sitting down one day and watching
Obama's sppeches on 'youtube'. He confessed to me that he started crying.

It's what we need to hear. Obama is a facilitator. someone who helps others come to their own truths and conclusions. The man has made me think, and is doing an excellent job of stretching my boundaries and, dare I say, intellect.

I have never experienced another candidate that enriches me so much.

36. Ohh,
well said Juno! That's exactly how I feel.

It is SO refreshing to vote FOR someone who brings out the best in people, rather than fear and insecurities. Rather than being forced to choose between the lesser of two evils. I have learned so many things regarding race and our government that I probably would've never been motivated to find out.

40. Wow! Kudos to you for allowing your daughter to find her own way..I grew up in the traditional black
baptist church and I was about 15 years old when I started believing opposite of was being preached to me. When I told my mother and father, I was leaning toward being agnostic, they didn't freak out and they didn't force their beliefs down my throat..they let me go and grow on my own!

Other members of my family didn't understand their choice. But I'm glad they let me make my own choices where religion or lack thereof is concerned.

I'm still agnostic, btw.

Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
- Margaret Mead

Life may change, but it may fly not;
Hope may vanish, but can die not;
Truth be veiled, but still it burneth;
Love repulsed,--but it returneth.
- Percy Bysshe Shelley,

No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.
- Heraclitus of Ephesus

31. The best part about this Democratic Primary is that we've been able to address the race issue
We knew it was coming, and the way it did enabled some real conversation in this country. So that we're all cool, all together when we kick McCain's ass in November.

The HOPE is getting thick enough to make stepping stones, isn't it!

" A Bag Of Tools"

Isn’t it strange
That princes and kings,
And clowns that caper
In sawdust rings,
And common people
Like you and me
Are builders for eternity?

Each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass,
A book of rules;
And each must make—
Ere life is flown—
A stumbling block
Or a steppingstone.

R. L. Sharpe (1870 - 1950).

That is my opinion too. I loved that he addressed race. I hope he does the same thing about economic class, because THAT is really the heart of the matter and why they use race and god and guns as distractions.

We are not going to be the same. As a result of Obama/Wright I have had some amazing conversations with family and friends on race issues. I have an uphill battle, but truth has been injected into the conversation now and the truth will prevail. I will never lose faith in the truth.
