Let's gush about John Edwards family
Are they adorable? Is Emma Claire the cutest name ever? Was that the most gorgeous Christmas card photo op you have ever seen? Hee hee- Ever even seen Bush with the twins? I haven't. JK's family very nice too- and I just love that Theresa lady!

3. Kerry was very funny about "having another head of hair" with him
on the campaign trail. They can share styling tips...

But damn those were some pretty pictures. Great speeches - no notecards, straight from the heart.

6. They can turn the "pretty hair" assaults to their advantage
Wry, self deprecating remarks every chance they get. I remember the first time I saw JE I thought, Uh oh, pretty boy, probably no substance- then I heard his 2 Americas speech and I was blown away!

29. I think that originated with Limbaugh. If it didn't, he sure
made it popular.

2. The relationships the Kerry and Edwards families
have to their children compared to the dysfunctional families in the WH will play out big time as the election heats up.
"Family Values" returns as an asset for the liberal column.

34. Exploit those kids! They are so darn cute they're going
to melts millions of hearts - especially those "soccer moms"!

And I love the way Kerry handles children and the way children take to him.

Women are going to love these two guys. I think these kids are going to go a long ways to making a lot of voters put their trust in them.

7. just indulged in a little remote viewing. . .
deep within the bowels of the bunker deep beneath the WH. . .Karl Rove is at his desk pouring over Bush & Cheney's extended family trees, pulling his hair out, he's mumbling, "m-m-m-must
f-f-f-f-find ch-ch-ch-cherubic-c-c-c- toddlers."

This is hilarious...I'm no Edwards fan (devoted Clarkie), but
watching the Kerrys, Heinzs and Edwards together made me very happy and very proud. I love Theresa! Rove must be looking for any cherub face he can find!!!

35. Did you see when Theresa
tried to push Jack's thumb out of his mouth? Once a mother, always a mother, even when it's not your kid and the cameras are rolling! :)

Yes, they made a great picture this morning, and I hope that many, MANY people will be drawn to them and want to learn more about what the Democrats have to offer our country, and then get the hell out and vote!!!

When Clinton tapped Gore as VP, there seemed to be such a quick and genuine friendship between the two couples.

30. Atticus was Cicero's lawyer, I believe. They're named after same person
for same reason, but Edwards has said that Jack wasn't named after the character in the book.

I just assumed he was named after another southern lawyer.

On edit: Are you sure about the namesake, I found this in an old New York Magazine article.

A lawyer with the passion of Atticus Finch (his infant son's namesake) who made his name defending the little guy -- and made a fortune doing it. A grieving dad who, after the freak accidental death of his teenaged son, is set to carry his memory all the way to the White House.

20. We're all forgetting the Edwards's older daughter, Catherine
A recent college grad (I wonder how many times they had to call the cops to come haul her out of a bar?) and one of the most normal looking kids I've ever seen, this side of Chelsea and Little Amy Carter, in the national spotlight.

22. Actually it's CathArine, and...
She seems bright and beautiful. All of those kids seem wonderful. The only decent WH child I can recall in my time is Chelsea. This is like an army of brilliant, educated, talented, wonderful kids. Love it! Love how it contrasts with the Drunken Skank Twins of *.

It's not their fault their dad is such a loser. And I hated it when people picked on Chelsea Clinton, let's try not to visit the sins of the father on the children, OK?

People picked on Chelsea wrongly. She is a good kid, bright and was well-behaved.

The Bush twins are another story and I wouldn't dare insult Chelsea Clinton by comparing her with them. They're partying drinkers who act like spoiled brats. I don't feel sorry for them at all.

27. Half of DU are partying drinkers!
I was a wretched child (a skank?, gee I hope not) but I grew out of it (mostly). I just don't think the kids should be targets of animosity because of the parents. That's all.

which may have something to do with their father, but is, in fact, their own cross to bear.
