I have generally ignored the media hype about Rev. Wright
Of course, I will be accused of keeping my head in the sand, but I have pretty much avoided the media hype about Rev. Wright. I watch very little cable news so I missed the constant replay of his comments. I read transcripts of his comments and heard a few clips here and there, but generally I have kept myself clear of it. If I want to watch a video of a news event I usually wait until I can see it on YouTube, so I don't have to see all the commentary. I support Barrack Obama and don't think focusing on Rev. Wright is relevant to Obama's message. Just because other people are trying to convince everyone that this is the most important issue doesn't mean people have to accept it. I suspect most Americans aren't thinking about Rev. Wright this morning.

1. When they think of him, he's "Obama's crazy preacher."
Which is why Wright has to defend himself.

2. The right-wing will use Wright to motivate
evangelicals (for one) if Obama is the nominee. There is much controversy from the points-of-view expressed by the church - it simply won't look plausible that Obama misses so much. I suspect Americans will hear much, much more if Obama gets the nomination. It will get very ugly indeed.

3. I don't think it makes sense
to allow this to dictate the GE. For goodness sake, McCain lost to Bush in 2000, and nobody likes Bush (so where does this put McCain????). There is no reason I need to accept the spin because that is the way the right-wing wants it. I think the more people who just drop it, the better.
