Sorry Folks. This isn't about Obama. This man's reputation was trashed by the MSM. I don't blame
him at all for fighting back. After the election in November, they wouldn't give him the time of day to fight for his name back. He has to do this now. He's doing this for himself. If I was in his shoes, I'd do the same.

5. No, he's doing this for his CHURCH.
This has been an attack on the Black Church, and he has spoken out to correct the misconceptions that have been spun out of control.

This pastor knows his stuff. It ain't about him.

7. Recommend, and I agree 1000 percent. His name was 'mud', and he
felt compelled to clean his name up. We were also given some history lessons. All very important, and I don't blame him at all.

8. What I find ironic is the number of Hillary supporters here that are negative to ...
Rev. Wright being out there speaking up for himself in fears that he will jeopardize Obamas chances in the General... This is hilarious.

9. I agree...he has every right to defend his name and legacy. People that use Wright to vote
against Obama solely, it's their choice. Obama is either going to win or he's not going to win; either way, Rev. Wright has every right to speak out, just as you or I would, if we were in a similar position.

for Obama and the democratic party.

I thought he was a great speaker. Made some great points. Outstandingly funny, sometimes.

But it's the sound bites that will bite Obama in the butt. :(

(For the record, I'm an Obama supporter after having been an Edwards supporter.)

12. Rev. Wright's message is one we Democrats should heed and build on...
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 09:18 AM by KoKo01
I think for so long we Dems have thrown our lot in with the Repugs and allowed them to muddy our message and work against our principles. I think Reverend Wright's message resonates with many of us on the Left who want to work for peace and who are against oppression and the policies our Government has taken that are oppressing and bringing war to our fellow human travelers on this earth.

It was time for a platform for voices against Oppression and War to get heard. All the petitions and organized marches don't get the ear or the eye of our "controlling media" and if this campaign brings that voice out and focuses attention on these issues then it will eventually make our party healthier.

18. Completely agree. His points, speaking style and personality
could have been a catalyst for a relevant and important discussion A YEAR FROM NOW!!!

But, "in this moment" they are extremely harmful to Obama's campaign and the democratic party.

In my mind, he is acting very selfishly. I am disappointed.
