Rev. Wright is LYING to say this is an attack on the black church and black people's patriotism.
It is about his crazy, controversial remarks. He's SELLING himself. And he's hurting BHO. He's hurting our need for racial reconciliation.

Rev. Wright is a selfish, egomaniacal, disingenuous huckster. He's a smart man, but he's out for just one man.

2. This is the first one on this - and one I would hope people like you would carefully consider.
Rev. Wright is LYING. That's a problem. And he just enjoyed this whole show WAY too much today. Are you not troubled by this?

9. How is this an attack on "the black church"?? He's muddying the waters with this BULLSHIT.
It's certainly not an attack on MY church. We don't have that kind of crazy talk - that black kids learn left-brained - white kids, right-brained. What a CROCK!!!

This is about a very smart, but very divisive, controversial and egomaniacal MAN - not the black church, not his religion.

6. I wouldn't say he's lying.
But I would say his ego is large enough to allow him to conflate himself with the African-American church itself.

7. You don't like him; we "GET" that. And how do you know
what his motives are? You don't know a damned thing about him from your adjectives. Have you researched his background, what he's done for his church and community, or are you just out to smear him?
Are you aware what he and his church has been through since Wright's name entered the picture? If he doesn't make his case for himself, who will? Shouldn't he have the right to explain himself?

13. I am using his words - that the questions raised about HIS sermons are an attack on the black church
and black people's patriotism.

That is simply not true. He's running for cover, looking for shelter by conflating the true. Very simply - he is LYING.

12. So you think he's the only black preacher who talks like that?
If so, then you have a point.

Otherwise, what he's saying is that he is not unique in the realm of black churches. That many preachers give sermons similar to his. So attacking his preaching style is attacking ALL of the other black churches as well.

14. I've seen this as an attack on the black church all along.
Its been part of the same attack squad that have used the southern strategy for years.

I guess you don't think the southern strategy exists either?

15. It most certainly is an attack on the black church and specifically on
his own congregation. If you believe Obama should have walked out of that church and question his judgment for not doing so, then you are also saying that anyone who has ever been a member of that church also has poor judgment and isn't qualified for public service.

Take a look around at the number of pastors who have defended Wright. Take a look at his reception at the NAACP dinner. You really don't see this as an attack on both Wright and his congregation? If it isn't, why the threats to bomb the church?

16. Yeah we need more helpful comments on racial reconcilation..like
Bill Clinton's' helpful comments marginalizing Obamas' SC win by comparing it to Jesse Jackson's two victories there.

Or like Billy Sheehan's helpful comments in NH by talking about Obama and drugs?

Or like Bob Johnson's helpful comments about Obama on the stump?

Or like Geraldine Ferraro's helpful comments about Obama and race?

Or like Hillary Clinton's helpful comments at the ABC debate on Louis Farrakhan?

Or like Ed Rendell's helpful comments on certain parts of PA was not ready to vote for a black man?

Let us thank them for their helpful comments on racial reconciliation!

20. Reverend Wright should lay down...
and let the media bash and trash he and his Church because he is a candidates' Pastor?

21. I strongly disagree.
This is an attack on the black church, black people's patriotism, and the idea of a black man running for president.

Reverend Wright's remarks are not crazy. If they are controversial, that's a good thing. Let's have the conversation.

Reverend Wright made those sermons years ago. He didn't put himself out there now. What's he supposed to do now? Hide? I don't think so.

I'll ignore the other nasty things you've said about Reverend Wright, as they aren't worthy of response.

By the way, I'm a white woman.

22. No he's not. This is the common feeling and some of us have warned for months.
The selfish, egomaniacal, disingenuity was in thinking you could attack and ridicule our Churches and we'd lap it up like good Uncle Toms.

If you can't handlt Rev Wrights message, you're not interested in racial reconciliation.

Then it devolved into his wacky b.s.
