This Black reverend guy is really pond scum

His name is Joe Watkins and he's a teevee yakker often on MSNBC, he's also a former Bush I staffer and a Bush-Cheney 04 cheerleader.

Why is HE talking about Wright .... and more specifically, how Wright is hurting Obama?

As if he gives a fuck.

Why is HE even on teevee?

Actually, I apologize to pond scum.

12. Deliberate deception too..
All this time he has been brought in for his opinion on this. I didn't know who he was except that he was a "minister." He just let it slip he was a Republican and I was really surprised. I mean I knew he was a hypocrite, and now I know why.

From his humble pastorage (to a congregation of less than 100) through his personal judgement (worked for Bush1)....not that he would ever let politics "color" a frank discussion on the racism of Rev. Wright....

16. Sooo transparent
I agree with the other posters, as someone who (unfortunately..I don't know why) watches MSNBC frequently, I've always seen Joe Watkins characterized as a "republican strategist", and have never seen them give him the "Rev.Joe Watkins" . Convenient day to do it.

19. I'm a Reverend myself with a congregation of four.
My cats! Lol! They love the Friskies communion I offer them twice a day.

There's some church on the internet that you can register with and they will issue you a document that you can print out. I did it with a gorup of people who were trying to point out some one else's hypocrisy. With a little more paper work with the state I could actually perform wedding ceremonies.

I wish I still had the link. I know I still have the certificate around somewhere.

20. I was married by a friend with one of those documents.
Nice little way to stick it up organized religion's nose.

He closed the ceremony with 'by the power invested in me by the State of New York and the internet...'

Certain religious members of my family hated it. But my wife and I decided to make a point with our ceremony, and make a point we did.

he's a black guy who is against Obama..

Modern media HAS to be about oppostion..always about fighting.. that's why they seem to prefer Clinton..she likes to fight fight fight..

How could we ever expect a media with only 24/7 to fill, to have the precious time to spend some of it actually fleshing out subjects and giving us real information we need:eyes:

27. Watkins=Republican Hack..Watkins on poverty and Pres. Bush...
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 01:38 PM by Doityourself
On the September 12, 2005 edition of CNN's Paula Zahn Now show, CNN contributor, talk radio host, and Bush-Cheney '04 campaign adviser, Rev. Joe Watkins, falsely claimed that the United States has experienced a "reduction" in poverty under President Bush. Watkins stated that "under Bill Clinton, 15.1 percent of the population was poor; under President Bush, 12.7 percent of the population is poor. That's a reduction, that's a good thing."

The truth is that the 15.1 percent poverty rate is what Democratic President Bill Clinton inherited from his predecessor, Republican President George W.H. Bush. What any honest reporter would credit him with is what he did with that figure. And since President Clinton reduced the 15.1% poverty when he took office in 1993 to a low of 11.3 percent in 2000; what he should be credited with is the 11.3 figure. By the same token, what Republican President George W. Bush deserves credit for is not the 11.7% which he inherited from President Clinton, but what he himself did with that figure. And since the poverty rate has risen every year that Bush has been in office, from 11.7 percent in 2001 to 12.7 percent in 2004, his record is the very opposite of what this shameful Black Republican "man of God" claims. What "god" does Rev. Joe Watkins represent, anyway?

28. When was he a Reverand and why did he switch careers?
Small flock?

He's a serial interrupter. Every time I've seen him on against a Democrat, he's refused to stop talking long enough to let the Democrat make his/her point. The anchor (usually, the horrid Contessa Brewer) couldn't control him either.

m$nbc isn't worth watching lately, IMHO, although I do make an exception for Countdown.
