It will be nice to have small children in the WH again-well almost the WH |
|
By the time Edward's little ones are REALLY in the WH - after Kerry's two terms - they won't be small children, but it really is wonderful for now. Somehow makes me wish my own children were youngsters again. Sigh!

5. Now that someone's mentioned this.. |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 01:41 PM by tedoll78
I can see this being a hidden factor in how some voters make their choice (hate to be stereotypical, but especially women). The campaign would be smart to make all sorts of appearances with these children.. it'd really hit-home about how the policy choices we make today will affect our babies in the future..
edit: I forgot.. it'd make Christmastime at the White House a real treat too!

12. I posted the same thing in another thread |

Photos of the kids with both candidates are going to melt a lot of hearts and make a lot of voters trust Kerry and Edwards - especially women.
Appeal to those "soccer/security moms" by Kerry/Edwards telling them their goal is to make the country safe and prosperous for their children and your children.
Believe me it worked for JFK back in 1960. It will work for this JFK and John Edwards in '04.
I'm in love today with the photos of Kerry with young Jack.

11. After seeing pictures of the Edwards family |
|
with Kerry you can't help but think optimisticaly. In this day of soundbite you have to have some kind of edge and those pictures give alot of points to the Kerry/Edwards ticket. Also with the repukes trying to make a case of Kerry being pessimistic the Edwards clan makes a mockery of that issue. I think they will use Clark to knock down *'s foreign policy and national security issues while focusing on how bad the iraq war is going, but it will not hurt the "ticket" with all the doom and gloom. Clark will put the election over the top by being the real hatchet man. He can beat * up and he will be believed and it will all look good for Kerry and no one can claim that Kerry voted for the resolution for war and Clark didn't so how come they disagree etc etc. Clark will be able to point out all the mistakes and make the case for Kerry all the while letting him and Edwards keep their message up beat. Perfect strategy for a landslide in Nov IMO.

13. I'm not usually influenced by such things. |
|
I generally find it a bit manipulative.
I tried to resist them, but the Edwards toddlers are an total exception. They are living dolls!
Today at the Cleveland rally, Edwards' son (sorry I forgot his name) was sitting on Chris Heinz's shoulders. Elizabeth gave him a huge, adult size Kerry-Edwards t-shirt to put on, and as the little guy was pulling it over his head, it covered Chris's face for about 40 seconds. It was adorable and amusing even to a jaded cynic like me! :)
Chris was totally sweet to the little boy, who we'll really have to keep an eye on because he was so determined to get that shirt on! You have to imagine him pulling that fabric over his head...and pulling...and pulling...and pulling (it was huge, remember). He did it with virtually no assistance which demonstrates great determination consistent with his good genes.
The whole incident was completely organic and natural. These are real people, not actors who have to be lead by a rope, rehearsed, and cued for their lines like the current regime.

17. That would be really great if it were true |
|
but he was swept off the road by a gust of wind.
--------- A year later, Wade, then 16, died when the Jeep he was driving swerved out of control. Fierce crosswinds "swept my boy off the road," Edwards wrote in his book, "Four Trials."

18. Except Edwards's son wasn't killed by a drunk driver. |
|
Wade Edwards was killed in a freak accident when a wind gust overturned his jeep.
However, the point that Bush or Cheney could have killed somceone's child still remains.
