We are All Going to Have to Let the Anger Go Pretty Soon |
|
That is if we truly want to win as a party...
Time to say F#$k the MSM Republican Corporate Twisted Warmongering Doppleganger and throw the bastards out whoever our party leader is...
On that point, just let me say I support Dr. Dean
The Democratic nominee I have wanted has only been nominated once during my voting lifetime... regardless of who you are for... tomorrow will be another day. You'll meet some cute candidate with brilliant ideas and yeah, you'll fall in love all over again. Or maybe, just maybe your old flame will call. Who knows?
Focus people, focus...

1. When a Democrat is elected President..... |
|
He or she should dismantle the corporate-owned media bit by bit for the good of the American people. He or she should use the FCC to fight those bastards. No more infotainment. No more beating the drums of war and pushing the patriot act on the American people.
The MSM needs to be completely destroyed. The MSM is trying to turn Americans into brainwashed zombies that focus on flag pins, pastors, and 60's radicals.
They would rather we forget about Iraq, the economy, or health care.

6. I've never had my first primary choice nominated.... |

and it doesn't look as if I will this time (well, it was Edwards, and he's long gone, but I don't think I'll even get my second).

7. Anger is not my problem at the moment:; for the first time I've been driven to apathy |
|
I've been exercising my right to vote since 1972 and haven't missed a local, state, or national election. I've been elected on the ballot as a delegate to the state Democratic convention, have served as a Democratic Town Committee member. I've been a founding board member of a progressive Democratic group. I've donated to candidates, I've canvassed extensively, I've phone-banked in everything from aldermanic to presidential races. I've contributed to the DNC, the DCCC, and the DSCC. Ever since the impeachment proceedings in the late 90s I've been an active internet voice. I've spent the last 8 years posting (though less and less frequently), writing letters to the media (both individual reporters, columnists, ombudspersons, and editors). I've petitioned, registered phone complaints, written congresspeople, researched ... followed every story and every bill from A to Z.
Where am I now? Considering giving it up all together. I've been burying myself in work and family, and when that's not enough to keep me away from the increasingly crass and despicable bullshit, I try to find an old movie on TV or a repeat episode of some insidious home repair show.
From the media to the Supreme Court to the miasma of campaign guttersniping ... I've had it. I know I'll end up walking down to the Union Hall to cast a vote in November. But that's probably going to be it: I give up. I give up having hope that things can or will change. I've given up thinking that honesty and truth can prevail in politics. I simply give up. Better to cultivate one's own garden. If only spring would come.
