Need Ideas: Best places to distribute Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers
I can get 50 - 100 of these easy by donating of course, and purchasing them. I would like to distribute them but I'm exceedingly shy and just don't see myself giving them out to strangers. Any good ideas for distributing them?

Only one I've come up with is to hang out by F-9/11 and distribute them to viewers on their way out. Other ideas?

1. Local college campus. Give them to the Young Dems there.
Or any other Liberal clubs on campus...

2. leave ten or so stacked in public places with "free stickers" sign....or,
hand them out in front of WalMart (you could enlist a friend for support).

hand them out at local college commons (again friend for support if necessary)

etc.

5. Parades
Now is festival, fair, parade season. Many local Democratic groups and local candidates march in these parades. We try to have something to hand out to the parade watchers. Over this past weekend we gave out palm cards for local candidates and a good supply of Kerry pamphlets and stickers.

6. Handing out political stuff is always easier if you wear a
political t-shirt that identifies your preference. Actually wear as much Kerry paraphernalia as you can. If you're shy this will really help as it breaks the ice with strangers, many people will approach you to strike up a conversation. The benefit of clearly identifying yourself is that people aren't taken aback if you approach them, they see you coming and if they aren't interested they can turn away beforehand and you than aren't rebuffed.

Being involved in grassroots politics can be a great way for shy people to mingle with others because volunteers have a shared interest and strangers are usually open to political dialog. You may consider yourself shy but you obviously are concerned about people otherwise you wouldn't be getting involved with grassroot politics so don't just leave stickers somewhere in a pile take this opportunity to connect with strangers and rustle up some support.

8. Find a local Kerry event and give them some of the stickers
Go here:
http://www.johnkerry.com/events/

Key in your zip code and find out who is having an event.

Another option is to find out if there is a local Kerry grassroots effort happening in your town. Where are you located? I might be able to help. You can go to www.kerrysupport.com and print out issues and sign people up if you feel brave. This is the time to step up to the plate. :->
