It's clear today that DU is under a coordinated attack from the establishment |
|
The events of this weekend have them seriously freaked out.
Let me just say this Establishment, your attacks will not work. We're MUCH stronger than you, and you know it.

Because that's the only way you could truly believe that a candidate named CLINTON is not establishment.

Obama is the choice of the corporate media. Without the corporate media, he'd be seen as what he is--a local community activist on his way to building a decent resume for a White House run in a decade or so. His voting record on corporate issues is nothing for a progressive to write home about, and his campaign has been so promoted by corporate and lobbyist interests (despite his denials) that you can't possible see him as anything other than a corporate candidate without believing a lot of stuff that simply isn't true.

|
screaming "Obama's scary black preacher! Obama's scary black preacher!" You mean that corporate media? You mean that corporate media is supporting the democrat with a populist message and millions of small donors and not the pro-corporate DLC candidate? Yeah, whatever.
Listen up pal, just because I cracked off a one-liner to you doesn't mean I don't have the goods to back it up. My eyes are wide fucking open, and I see what's going on, with the media, with Hillary, and with you. I'm not the one supporting the sure-to-lose candidate who cozies up to Richard Melon Scaife and has the support of Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchanan, and now Bill-fucking-Kristol. So save your shit for the paid Hillary tourists, 'cuz you're dealing with a lifelong proud liberal activist here who would like to see you and your triangulating little centrist warhawk pack their bags and get the fuck out of the Democratic Party.

44. You honestly trying to pretend the media has been tough on Obama? |
|
Sell it to Obama supporters, it's a goddamned lie, and you know it. If you are as informed as you just claimed, you know Obama's skeletons, too, and what he gets away with lying about. William Kristol praised Obama long before Clinton, and Scaife has praised Obama over McCain, too, because of his anti-war stance. I don't understand what motivates those idiots, and don't care who they endorse. The bottom line, as you know as well as I do even if you aren't honest enough to post it here, is that the media has created Obama into the teflon savior, and without them you'd remember his name about the way you remember Dodd or Gravel--as distant also-rans.

I'm watching it right now! "Jeremiah Wright, Jeremeiah Wright!" It's still going on! Just like they hammered him on the "bitter" stuff. Just like they hammered him on Wright the first time around.
Which is not to say that I think the media is out to get him, but they sure as fuck aren't favoring him either. The media thrives on ratings, which thrive on controversy, so they're always out to hype the latest controversy. At the same time, it's good for them to have these primaries go on, and with that end in mind, they're trying really hard to legitimize Hillary staying in the race. It is the corporate media who is still perpetuating the myth that Hillary has a path to victory, when in actuality, she simply doesn't.

I would hardly call ABC's debate just before the Pennsylvania Primary questioning Obama's patriotism because he wasn't wearing a flag lapel pin as being in love. I believe that was also the weekend SNL ran a rerun, not like the two weekends just before Ohio when they ran the media is picking on Clinton skits.

why people's opinion of Obama -- gleaned from the corporate media -- increases after they see him in person or hear him speak and realizes he's not the way the corporate media portrays him.
Yeah, that's the ticket. Very clever on their part. I never would have done it that way.

12. I agree that Obama is extremely successful. And I'm very glad about it. His campaign is so much |
|
fun to volunteer in.
The people are fired up and ready to go.
I can't imagine what a drag it would be to be volunteering for Sen. Clinton. No enthusiasm, no money for anything, and the smell of desperation permeating the whole operation.
It's no wonder so many have jumped off her sinking ship. It must be excruciating to volunteer there.
I called a friend two weekends ago to see if she wanted to come to our small towns volunteer organizational meeting. She said she was leaning Clinton, but said to call her after the primary and she would be more than glad to volunteer for the Obama GE campaign.
Right now she's not doing anything, because Clinton has no campaign here. She's an activist from way back, and although she's leaning Clinton, she sees the writing on the wall.

30. It's not the dough, it's the people. In all my years of volunteer political work I've never seen |
|
such an outpouring of community around a candidate (or an issue, for that matter.)
I'm talking high school kids to their teachers to their grandmothers and grandfathers. Working moms, working dads, it's all across the board.
It's truly amazing. It's renewing my faith in American democracy and in the American people.
And it's going to have ramifications long after this election. Coming together with your neighbors in common cause changes all of us.

|
....Hillary's supporters faith in their candidate? What does it say about Hillary's chances in the GE?
I believe Hillary being consistently broke over the last few months is a demonstration of how fiscally responsible she is, and how she can organize a campaign. And the things being demonstrated are not a good reflection on Hillary.

would be nice. A class action lawsuit for depraved indifference causing irreparable harm to the American people? After all the media is responsible for lying us into war. When thinking about the media and propaganda, I am always reminded of Julius Streicher. Especially these days when they are fanning the flames of racism, to divide the electorate. Seems to me it is an act of treason, or terrorism, destroying the country from within.
