MSNBC Is Beating This Wright Thing To Death |
|
I'm not a Obama supporter but this is overkill... This reminds me of impeachment when it was all Monica, all the time...
As to what Senator Obama should do I don't know.... Reverend Wright is making himself an issue as is his right.....I do think the Reverend Wright, who is a very bright man and knows exactly what he is doing, isn't helping Senator Obama's cause...

1. I think Wright is pissed off with Obama |
|
That's the only thing I can figure. He knew good and well before he started this press tour that he was going to be covered nonstop for the days to come and become a distraction YET AGAIN. Yet he did it anyway.
So he's either trying to personally sabotage Obama for petty stupid reasons or he's a complete moron. Probably some of both.

Even Gravel said he had to deal with his over-expanded ego when he was in the Senate. Gravel!
I'm with you in that I think Wright might feel kind of dissed by Obama's distancing himself from him.

He's giving Hillary and the Republicans even MORE ammunition to use at this point. If he had any political savvy WHATSOEVER, he would keep his mouth shut or at least not continue to give them more stuff to twist to make Senator Obama look bad. Yet he continues to do it. He keeps talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking when the best thing he could do right now is to either say nothing or at least stay clear from anything that could be twisted in the slightest way to be inflammatory.

Why not talk to the Obama campaign about this first and see what they had to say about it? I assume he didn't do that because I have more faith in the campaign to approve Rev. Wright continuing this story up until at least next week.

But why now and why in the manner that he's doing it?
No matter WHAT Rev. Wright says, the media spins it as somehow racist and/or unpatriotic. They also have forever linked Rev. Wright and Senator Obama. Keeping that in mind, why didn't he defend himself a month ago or whenever the controversy first erupted? Why wait this long and give the story constant play up until Indiana and NC? And why, when defending himself, does he has to do it in such a stupid manner, giving the media even MORE sound bites to use?
Just stupid stupid stupid.

For the Clintons. It sure seems like it.
Now is not the time to start solving racial problems in America when people are losing their homes, have no health insurance, no jobs, and current jobs being shipped out of the country.
With that said...I have watched the wright speech and I don't really see what all the fuss is about.
But now Barack is gonna spend all of his time explaining the rants of a retired minister who is taking advantange of the moment to push himself and his book.

I post facts of what she has done. I have seen a side of her now, and a side of Bill Clinton that make me wonder if there is hope for our party.

The point is, people have a short attention span. The media reflects this. We rarely "solve" an issue in this country, the media just reports on it incessantly until everyone is sick of it and we move collectively to the next "issue". If they beat this issue to death, with nothing new to say about it, people will just tune out. By the time Newt and the boys got around to impeachment, the country gave them a collective "shut up already!" and they went down in flames. This seems like much the same. The die hard Obama haters will eat it up, everyone else will say, "didn't we already talk about this?"

33. I Think It Has To Do With The NC RNC Using Him In That Ad... |
|
For him to hit the public eye and show he's not the caricature they've portrayed him as might be what it takes to diffuse it now, rather than the fall.

36. Just another wedge issue... |
|
what about the economy...Is this Wright story addressing that? What about the War in Iraq?...Is this addressing that?
How in anyway has Wright affected your day to day life? Has it at all? Its distraction mode...same old same old...Wedge issue.
It is also racist, I don't see the media putting the two other candidates, Spiritual mentors under a microscope. This is just another Bullshit distraction

40. turn this around: those who get mad at Rev. Wright for looking at sins of past don't want us to |
|
look at their sins in the PRESENT either.
They try to tell us everything is fine while they fill their pockets with our tax dollars, chase us out of our homes, and send our children to die so oil companies can increase their profit margins.
Those are as ugly and uncomfortable as the things Rev. Wright said, but like those past injustices, they won't go away just because we choose to look away, anymore than most Americans' ignorance about the Middle East and our policies there prevented 9/11.
Ignorance isn't bliss--it's a death sentence.

You can see it in the way he's carrying himself during these events. He's getting worse and worse in every appearance too.

51. I think he's helping Obama against McCain. |
|
I could be wrong, but I think by the time the party nomination is "official" Americans will be sick of hearing about Wright and all the cards will be on the table. "God Damn America" clips will be sooo old news that anyone who plays them will get eye rolls - "yes, yes, we've heard it before. His former pastor hates America."
I agree about MSNBC, though, they're completely fixated with this story and have been since the get go. I bet it's all Pat Buchannon's fault. I've learned to hate that guy since this story first broke.

56. It's really pissing them off that we aren't rolling over like we did the last 7 years. |
|
Excuse us if we're not taking the bait after the last seven miserable fucking years of you guys lying and covering up for Bush. The name is cupid, not stupid. Change is indeed coming and the MSM is not happy. Too bad for them. They will eventually be irrelevant. We're still years away but it will happen.

could help determine how fast that happens.

I thought that they had officially endorsed Obama. They have been so in the tank for him that I stopped watching MSNBC after KO's 10 minute diatribe against Hillary.

Some programming isn't bad if you like nature programs, some sports, comedy, etc. Cable news did a hack job on Gore and Kerry and now they're doing it on Obama. It has become really obvious in the past few weeks since he won those 11 contests in a row and has become the presumptive nominee. It's getting ugly.
