My email response to an in-law regarding an attack e-mail on Obama
Hello all,

I feel a need to respond to this. There is nothing scary at all about quotes from Sen. Obama's books. These are but mere snippets of much larger passages, and one must really read more to get a sense of the man, much like this Rev. Wright BS that you may be seeing on TV. Words from a great and caring man are taken and boiled down into one or two soundbytes that are played in an endless loop or mass e-mailed to infuriate those who are unwilling or unable to really think about the message, just a controversial phrase or two that really can be interpreted in more than one way. What I'm trying to say is, don't believe all of what you hear on TV, or judge a man by a few sentences from his books. I have been following this campaign since the very day it began, and I am more impressed with Barack Obama by the day, he is a deep thinker, and about as honest of a politician as you will find, in my opinion. As far as standing up with the Muslims, Obama will stand up with anyone who needs to be stood up for. The vast majority of Muslims are good, peace-loving people. They are not all Al-Qaeda, as the media might have you believe. And Obama is indeed Christian, and applies those values to his service to the public. This man does not always do what is politically expedient, but rather what is right, and that is very refreshing to me.

I think if anyone is scared over a few quotes from a book, then they really should be scared over this country's country's prospects for the future. After 7 1/2 years of little Bush, this nation is in such a load of debt that hyperinflation (devaluing of our currency) and depression have become very real possibilities, we have a war that has gone for over 5 years, all in the name of oil, how ironic that gas has tripled in price since these oil crusades began. Money is being funneled from us, via our Federal Gov't, to corporations who view us worker ants, and nothing more. So here we are, hemorraging jobs, in the worst debt ever, with thousands dying in an unjust war, and we should be SCARED of Obama?? I'd be much more scared of McCain, who had aligned himself perfectly with Bush until recently, because of political expediency. Does anyone really believe he would not give us 4 more years of the same shit that we have endured for the past 7 1/2? I urge you all to give Sen. Obama a chance, check out his website barackobama.com , watch his "More Perfect Union" speech pertaining to racial divide, look at his plans for ethics in government, they are outstanding! Do not let the media and mass e-mails make such an important decision for you. When we all look at this critically, considering the seriousness of the precarious position our nation is in, I think we can come to a better conclusion this time. I am one of Senator Obama's most ardent supporters this campaign season, and I will not let attacks on him stand unchallenged. To those of you who made it through my lengthy diatribe, I thank you for reading, and hope you take what I have said into consideration when choosing your next President.

Regards,

2. Great response.....
Bush has destroyed this country's reputation and economy and yet some are scared of Barack Obama!

Don't they realize that the man that they should be most afraid of as been sitting in the White House for 7 years looting our treasury, disobeying our constitution, and diregarding our laws?

Why is it that their bigotry cannot let them see that?

6. You might want to send the email message to Obama's
website, as well. There's an action group that wants to "fight back" on email smears. Here's the address for forwarding that junk:

watchdog@barackobama.com

Also listed on the website are various responses to cut and paste.

I'm always impressed by that website.
