Greg Sargent reports that:

Hillary chief strategist Geoff Garin "Senator Obama has said what he has to say . . .We respect the fact that Senator Obama has had his say on this and the campaign should move on."
Sargent also reports that Hillary Clinton said:

I regret the efforts by the Republicans to politicize this matter and I believe that if Senator McCain were serious he would do more than just send a letter<.> e is the putative nominee<.> I think he could very clearly tell the North Carolina party<,> tell the Mississippi party<,> that he would not tolerate those kinds of advertisements and I'm waiting to see if he does that.

the punching bag the Clintons loved to punch so much.

This is my take as well
Wright has shown he will not stand for their garbage. Hillary only likes soft targets. When the tiger might turn and bite she lets go of the tail.

15. WHOSE campaign should move on?
She also said this:

Asked later whether new public comments from Wright, particularly those mocking Presidents Kennedy and Johnson, reflected on Obama, Clinton was terse, saying only: “You’ll have to ask him that.”

Which is remindful to me of the "as far as I know" comment.

She does say/do things I give her props for. But not this.

She did her job well. She does not care about our party at all.

I despise her and those eyes. I won't watch her on TV ever again.

8. I hope everybody understands that Hillary has mentioned...
the reverend one time. That one time was after a question asking what would she do if he were her paster. I hardly think anyone can accuse Hillary for ever using this issue. Thankfully she has stayed out of the issue.

16. BULLSHIT
Countless times she brought it up and she even tried to legitimize it during the ABC debates.

I'm not buying any good intentions from her campaign. Her and Lieberman can go fuck themselves in a smoke filled room.

If you have any other links or proof that she did indeed speak on the issue multiple times I would love to see them.

29. Here's the debate for one
SENATOR CLINTON: I was asked a personal question, Charlie, and I gave a personal answer. Obviously, one's choice of church and pastor is rooted in what one believes is what you're seeking in church and what kind of, you know, fellowship you find in church. But I have to say that, you know, for Pastor Wright to have given his first sermon after 9/11 and to have blamed the United States for the attack, which happened in my city of New York, would have been intolerable for me. And therefore I would have not been able to stay in the church, and maybe it's, you know, just, again, a personal reflection that regardless of whatever good is going on -- and I have no reason to doubt that a lot of good things were happening in that church -- you get to choose your pastor. You don't choose your family, but you get to choose your pastor. And when asked a direct question, I said I would not have stayed in the church.

-------------

And here's more -

MR. GIBSON: I'm getting a little out of balance here. Do you want to take a few seconds, or do you want to go to the next question?

SENATOR CLINTON: Well, I think, in addition to the questions about Reverend Wright and what he said and when he said it, and for whatever reason he might have said these things, there were so many different variations on the explanations that we heard. And it is something that I think deserves further exploration, because clearly what we've got to figure out is how we're going to bring people together in a way that overcomes the anger, overcomes the divisiveness and whatever bitterness there may be out there.

It is clear that, as leaders, we have a choice who we associate with and who we apparently give some kind of seal of approval to. And I think that it wasn't only the specific remarks, but some of the relationships with Reverend Farrakhan, with giving the church bulletin over to the leader of Hamas to put a message in. You know, these are problems, and they raise questions in people's minds.

And so this is a legitimate area, as everything is when we run for office, for people to be exploring and trying to find answers.
------------

She was given the opportunity to move on and chose to keep blathering on about it. Poetic justice the next question was framed with the fact that the country doesn't trust her. Wonder why? :eyes:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/16/us/politics/16text-debate.html?pagewanted=9&_r=1

And her campaign has been beating this horse for months, not just her. In that last debate she even went one further and tried to legitimize it as an issue. Fuck off already HRC

28. I do not blame Hillary or Obama for unfortunate ...
things there people say. I did not blame Obama when one of his people called Hillary a monster. After reading the comments that they made on the reverend. I have concluded they are not in any way attacking him but simply implying he may be a liability if he is the nominee. if obama is the nominee is the nominee I will vote for him.

17. Two days ago, Garin mentioned Wright in his "Fair is Fair" op-ed.
Obviously, Wright did something right to undercut Hillary's strategy. Now, they want him to go away? Tough! They tried to destroy his character, now they need to reap what they have sowed. I hope he becomes an embarrassment for them as more people learn about Wright and realize how despicable Hillary's tactics are.

26. This hints at supporting the idea that she is in this thing still only to drudge up
the only RW attack points on Obama, so as to inoculate him from the attack later.

Because as they say (should they question Obama on any of this later), "this is all old news, if you want to go back 6 months then read my statements then. My position hasn't changed. Next question. But thanks for bringing up such divisive non-issues. It reminds us all that there is a new game in town with fair rules of play. This is just old garbage."
