Superdelegate Envy
What is with these 300 or so Superdelegates not saying who they're for - they've had DOZENS of debates to make up their minds, and I can only come to the conclusion that many of them are not saying who they're for yet, because they either want something like a promise of a role in an administration (disgusting), or they just love going to lunch with visitors to their office and talking about
how they're a superdelegate who hasn't decided yet, so they feel self-important and make others have Super-Envy.

Enough... pick who you're for so this damn thing can be ended. You are all hurting the party, and that damage increases the more they delay this. Why they haven't announced in the past couple weeks is inexcusable when it's clearly, without argument, hurting our party. (and how does William Jefferson get to keep his name on the SD list after the corruption scandal?)

1. Lot of DNC members who like the idea of a 50-state campaign
that Dean has pushed and Obama is supporting.

4. They want to be sure they are scratching the back of....
the winner!

That way they can curry more favor. If they thought they knew who the winner was... they'd jump on board. But... why hurry when they are being wooed by both sides and benefitting from it?

5. I've a feeling that the Obama camp's joint fundraising agreement
with the DNC might have greased a few reluctant wheels. Hate to say it, but I would guess some or most of these people want to know what's in it for them as opposed to who would be best for America. Color me cynical.

12. If only 115 of them got off the fence
Obama would be the presumptive nominee, based on the near-certainty that he is going to take at least 45% of the remaining vote.

14. I see quite a few from OR, my state.
Probably they are just waiting for our primary and unwilling to step into the fray with local backing so far uncommitted (being very unaccustomed with the notion of having any national influence).

I notice Dean is on there himself - ironic as he has asked for declarations "soon". Probably he and every other one on the list have their own individual good reasons.

I do think it is a ridiculous characterization to say these people will as one throw the primary one way or another. The same as any election - these are individuals with their own minds. I would guess on an eventual split of the 300 resembling the popular vote split.

and I think Bernie should be! He caucuses with the dems and has for nearly 20 years.
