I like it when Obama calls for people to be responsible parents |
|
I wish more politicians would do that. It's so much easier for politicians to blame the teachers, the teachers' unions, or blame other politicians.
But I like it when Obama calls on parents to turn off the TV, put away the video games (though video games can be good in small doses), pay attention to their children's behavior and performance in school. Government can't do it all.

3. It always gets him HUGE applause, which surprises me a bit, |
|
since it is in the hands of those same parents to JUST DO IT! It's good to hear, and I cannot even remember the last time (if ever) I heard a politician talk about personal responsibility in this way.

4. I dunno, that sounds kinda elitist to me... |

Parents shouldn't have to take care of their kids, that's what the internet is for. :sarcasm:

5. It is refreshing - imagine if the politicians had said that twenty years ago. |
|
When shrewish fundy fucks started complaining about language and/or violence and/or sex on TV and stuff, the politicians should have said, "Then fucking turn it off". Instead of going into orgasmic frenzies of "concerned inquiries" and ridiculous censoring.
