Poll question: Is Ron Paul a friend or a Foe to the Democratic Nominee? |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 09:20 PM by aaroh
By staying and contesting in the rupublican race as a GOP nominee, do you believe Ron Paul is having an impact? Is he a friend or a foe to the democratic nominee? He has been critical of all the presidential nominee including John McCain, however Ron Paul does not attract much attention from the MSM.

1. I'm cautiously saying 'friend'. |
|
Although he doesn't get much media coverage, I think he has quite a large following who will hopefully write him in instead of vote for McCain.

4. If the Dem Nominee was to include Ron Paul in a cabinet position as an economic adviser |

then that'll have a huge impact on the GE results, imho.

10. And a bad impact on the economy. |
|
Paul is a free market libertarian who believes there should be no regulations on corporations.

even if he runs as a third party he's a foe. Many anti war people will be looking to Paul that might otherwise look to Obama.

An enemy of my enemy is not necessarily a friend. In this case, his group will cause as much chaos as they can against the Democrats as they can the Republicans come the main election.

6. Both -- in relation to his base, not his challenge to McCaiin |
|
Although, much like HRC supporters, the longer he stays in, the more his base will fight for him and resent the eventual nominee.
Friend in that he is in full favor of ending the war NOW. We just *may* pick up anti-war people from that.
Foe in that our nominee is a black man. A huge chunk of RP's support is the White Nationalist and NeoNazi movements.
I would like to see him run as a 3rd party, but the Constitution and Libertarian parties have already chosen their people. Best case would be for these two parties to merge and then run him.

8. Shammity was taking calls from frustrated repugs today who were at the NV state convention |
|
They were lambasting the aggressive mob of Paul supporters who tried to hijack the process. It was funny to hear the idiots on the other side deal with a bit of turmoil also.
I say friend.

12. His view point on the war and the Constitution is friend to us |
|
all. The candidates should all support the Constitution they took an oath to protect. The war they all know was a lie.
Both parties agree with that since it was a 2004 mandate.
