The Press in this country is Broken
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 11:32 PM by cottonseed
Are you telling me that the same group of cheerleaders (Russert, Cooper, Matthews, Hannity, O'Reilly, Broder, Beck, Hume, Friedman, CNN, MSNBC, NBC/GE, ABC, NYT, Fox, Washington Post) are now the same group of people we are listening to when they tell us how dangerous Reverend Wright is for Obama?

Are we seriously listening to these people analyze, define, and pontificate upon this manufactured controversy? They are responsible for flushing this country's young lives and trillions of dollars in future debt straight down the toilet and they're now questioning Obama's relationship with his Pastor.

These guys all woke up at around the same time and figured out that if this country were to actually elect a candidate who was right on the war when they were ALL WRONG, then what that would reflect upon them would not be pretty. Clinging to power for them is more important than watching this country elect a great President. That's what I just can't get my head around. DC cocktail parties and access to powerful people is more important to them then the future of this country.

We're doomed to believing the American dream is drinking beer and bowling if they can pull it off this time.

1. To quote a country singer, they treat us like mushrooms--
feed us bullshit and keep us in the dark. They bank on our collective stupidity, fear, and base instincts. And they usually win.

10. They Fail Us Over and Over
and you're right they win. But they didn't after ABC debate, maybe, just maybe there will be some blow-back will occur after today's non-stop hate fest toward the black pastor. It's possible, ABC lost viewers - I sure as hell reprogrammed my evening news cast after the debate, now I think I'll reprogram again to "none of the above".

3. yes, so? It's broke. It's what candidates have to learn to manipulate. If they can't, they lose.
It's not fair. But it's reality. Bitching about it doesn't change things.

You're a real breath of fresh air.

Let me add a bit. One point I was trying to make in this post was that this same press got us into a WAR!. A lot of people died and a lot more will.

You don't care about that do you?

9. if you read what I wrote it's about finding out HOW TO USE THE MEDIA to your advantage
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 11:52 PM by cryingshame
but you just go ahead and whine about how unfair the media is.

And the primary season goes by, the GE goes by and Democrats will still be losing and not have a majority in Congress.

12. This will backfire on the Media I think
The American people are not as stupid as the Media thinks they are anymore.

They sold us the IRAQ War and the 911 Story.

America has wised up.

It just could be that the voters will see through all of this and it may even bring out more Obama voters
instead of turning them away because everyone is sick of the Media trying to control the outcome.

We will see.
