My problem with Ralph Nader
I agree with a what he says about both parties being controlled by corporate interests.
I agree that both parties are keeping out third parties and limiting voter choices.
I agree that we need campaign reform and real limits to how money plays into elections.

My problem with him is that none of these things are going to get changed with a Quixotic run for president.

If he were to concentrate on one or two states at a time he bring real change. If he would help bring together independents, third parties, and disillusioned Dems and Repubs to make basic and simple changes to state level voting laws, that would be progress. Instant runoff voting and clean campaign elections are possible on the state level. Get more independents on in congress and in governor mansions.

Do this and the Whitehouse becomes attainable.

My problem with Mr. Nader is that it all seems to be about Mr. Nader because he appears to be inflexible and not listening to any body else. Moderate Democrats, who would be at least open to his message, are now set against him. The national level is not where you start the fight, but where you finish it.

1. I agree with you.
But I can understand becoming dissolutioned with relying on typical means and 'playing the game.' Sure your suggestions might work, or they might not, and his name would never be out there.

I don't want to see Bush back, and I don't think that Nader is the candidate of the future, but the democrats are running out of excuses and time. They get the left vote year after year and they DO NOT deserve it. Not by a long shot.

I agree with most of what Nader says. But he cannot win. If wants changes in the party then you have start from the ground up. Elect a congressman to the 3rd party and grow in that way. What good would it do him if he were president? Nothing would get done.

4. What I say to Nader
I consider myself pretty liberal, but even I think only pot-smoking hippies would vote for that guy.

5. where you start the fight,
yup, i might have one iota of respect for him if he had spent the last 4 years doing ANYTHING to build the green party. run for congress, senate, dog catcher, work for other candidates, plow some of your big dough into the party, anything!!! he is not about a third party, he is about king ralph. personally, i think he is certifiable.
