Sounds like somebody promised the Edwardses a couple of jet skis.

Edit--I guess I should change the title so people don't get too worked up.

2. Excellent! John won't be far behind!
When Hillary is president, I hope John Edwards is our attorney general. He can clean up the DOJ

5. Did you bother reading the article at the link?
*snip*
“I don’t get it,” said Kathi Lewis, of Wilmington, as she and
two friends waited for Mrs. Clinton to arrive at a campaign
event Sunday evening. “We were just talking about it on the
way over here. It’s too bad he’s not the candidate, but if
he endorsed, it would sway people in one direction or the other.”

Mrs. Clinton’s supporters, in particular, are anxious for
the Edwardses to speak up about whom they support. Mr. Obama
has held a significant lead in the polls here for months,
and Clinton supporters are hoping that an Edwards endorsement
will bolster Mrs. Clinton’s chances at a crucial moment.

Theories abound: They will endorse before the primary.
Or after there is a nominee. Or Mr. Edwards will endorse
Mr. Obama and Mrs. Edwards will endorse Mrs. Clinton.
Or none of the above.

13. Did you read the WHOLE article?
On the other hand, Mrs. Edwards, her husband’s closest and most trusted adviser, has made it clear that she favors Mrs. Clinton; aides said she had recently tried to persuade Mr. Edwards to do the same.

3. Maybe they'll go like the Schwarzneggers, endorse one each
Which would be a crafty way to stay on everyone's good side.

4. You sure have a low opinion of John and Elizabeth Edwards...
Sounds like somebody promised the Edwardses a couple of jet skis.

Sounds like you think the Edwardses are a couple of crack whores.

11. Some people confuse rhetorical wit with insults
As was mentioned by another poster, it appears the OP didn't really read the article very clearly.

So, the jet ski crack shouldn't be a real surprise

6. Reading is fundamental...
Can you possibly show me anywhere in that article where it states that "Elizabeth Edwards is backing Hillary"?

15. Where it says:
"On the other hand, Mrs. Edwards, her husband’s closest and most trusted adviser, has made it clear that she favors Mrs. Clinton; aides said she had recently tried to persuade Mr. Edwards to do the same."

18. Well, I see the OP edited the title...now it's technically accurate.
I still question the "Breaking!" quality of the news, but that's opinion, not fact.

20. That is nothing but media speculation and "unnamed aides". Again, everything that I read when
Edwards was still in the election was saying that Elizabeth Edwards didn't like Hillary and thought she was kind of bitchy.

Still, Obama will win NC by a wide margin.

10. No, they don't.
Not really.

<snip>Many of Mr. Edwards’s supporters in North Carolina have been quietly pressing him to endorse Mr. Obama, and a large group of them, led by Ed Turlington, his campaign chairman during the last presidential race, came forward publicly last week to support Mr. Obama.

On the other hand, Mrs. Edwards, her husband’s closest and most trusted adviser, has made it clear that she favors Mrs. Clinton; aides said she had recently tried to persuade Mr. Edwards to do the same.

Even if he remains neutral, Mrs. Edwards’s endorsement would carry weight, some voters suggested.

...Mrs. Edwards’s endorsement would carry weight...

If she's backing Hillary, why is the statement in the future conditional tense?

16. If she does it's a waste of a trip
She could have just gone back in time and thrown a pack of Trojans in Obama's parent's bedroom on the night of conception@!

17. due to the financial constraints of her poorly run campaign...
the time machine was built from left over parts and can only go 6 months into the future...

21. Well, I guess if she disagreed with her husband's entire campaign platform, she might.
Hillary's corporatism and warmongering are 180 degrees opposed to what John Edwards was campaigning on.

Now I'm not saying his wife would agree with him on everything, but I would think her views would be closer to his than to Hillary's horribly warped worldview.
