How much you wanna bet that, if they cancel the election, |
|
our bosses will still insist that we come in to work?
I would think that, if the threat is that great, you would hope that people would want to stay at home and protect their loved ones, right?
Kinda like some of these "severe weather days" in Northeast Ohio in the middle of winter.
The cops are telling you that you cannot be out on the roadways unless it's an emergency. Yet your boss docks you for missing work. You're screwed.

9-11 our company would NOT close it's stores...all I wanted was to run home and see my son, but no way...I think all five stores did a total of $300 after the attacks that day...

and who is going to enforce it?
And if our bosses force us to come into work, just how are they going to force us? since at that point there will have been runs on banks, riots in the streets and our bosses won't have any money to pay us with.
Which I bring up because that's the reason "they" won't cancel the elections, because "they" want power in order to get something out of it. If the world economy collapses, which is basically what would happen, "they" wouldn't be making any money and would be holed up somewhere hoping that they didn't get shot. Where's the self interest in that?

A little rational thought is needed with this hysteria.

7. Rational Thought Is a Good Thing |

But consider this scenario: They postpone the elections until such a time that the government feels it's safe to reschdule them.
In order to insure that the economy is not adversely effected they issue special orders instituting a curfew. You see I work M-F from 7:30am-4:30pm. A curfew could run from 6am to 10pm, and for those who have a different type of schedule, special passes can be issued.
You're right when you say they won't let anything interfere with making money, but during WWI they had restrictions in place, and people still went to work.
So they could postpone the election and still keep the country running, without hurting the economical side of things.

and what's left of the National Guard.
How are you going to be forced to come to work? Well, either show up or get fired, all your pay coming to you from the date of your last paycheck, etc. Just how much dealings in actual ready cash do you really think the banks have? And the banks, seeing that the panic has set in, probably would lock the doors from the inside, with the workers there that had to show up.
Hope you have enough saved up to get to your next job while being blacklisted.

Seems like they'd be happy to shoot a few liberals.

I haven't been going to work since January, just like it was under the PREVIOUS Bush administration.
I'm still optimistic, but it's quite likely I won't be going to work around election day, either. Hmmmm, am I on the vanguard of an emerging movement, or just another unemployed schlub???
