1. I'm assuming you are talking about Wright and Obama |
|
Just to let you know you could be a little more specific. If guilt be association is an issue, Clinton is just as guilty: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5729853''

|
the 60's she had dealings with the black panthers. NO COVERAGE at all on this

2. Ever looked who has been in the WH for the last 30 years or so? |
|
It has not counted with them for sure. I will say I do think it will count with Obama. It gives a reason not to vote for a black man. Obama has to be smarter and better than the others that run.

4. First, if your black your preacher becomes fair play. I'll bet none of the others have attended the |
|
same church for 20 years. In fact maybe that's what we find fascinating.

associated with you who has said anything intelligent that scares all the white folks who voted for Bush which proves that they're a bunch of idiots anyway.

8. Who is the judge, and what makes them superior to sit in judgement |
|
of others?
Being an adulterer is OK, but having a Pastor who speaks his mind is not?
How did this happen.
Makes me suspect of the paragon of virtue who speak of children and weekends.
The Pope is associated with an awful lot of phedophiles for me to buy this line of yours.
Rev. Wright committed no crime.
and Obama's only crime is being open minded enough to allow a Pastor to preach to his Flock without feeling compeled to only sit in a church at had a pastor that did exactly has Obama determined should be proper behavior.
If finds the standards set to be mistifying.

9. Voters judge candidates on character and integrity |
|
Each voter has to decide for herself or himself what issues they consider are important when choosing a candidate.
I don't agree that "Being an adulterer is OK". But I would still vote for Bill Clinton over Bush Senior or Bob Dole.
I am not a Catholic and even if I was - I would not put much faith in the current Pope.
Hillary Clinton is not an adulterer - as far as I know. B-)

10. So if Adulterers are OK to vote for , |
|
Why would having a fiery pastor disqualify one?
Can the same person rationalize that, or do they just not bother to?

Rev Wright is one of the few people to have openly said that he would be interested in the VP spot.
But if you didn't appreciate my wry remark, let's ask the mods to create an "irony" smilie or something.

13. Sorry but the way Obama spends his time with his children on weekends... |
|
Does not tell me a thing about whether or not we will get out of Iraq or whether or not we will get universal health care. Then again, I said the same thing about how I just don't care about Hillary embellished a story about Bosnia, and my fellow Obama supporters gave me a lot of shit for it.
I'm not looking for a moral leader in my President. I honestly could care less if they have wild orgies in the oval office. I'm just looking for someone who will make the changes that I want to see happen.

22. Well that kinda disqualifies Hillary from the get-go. |
|
She's associated with that husband of hers who was stupid enough to screw around while living in a goldfish bowl, get caught, and then lie about it. That little bit of poor judgement cost this nation hugely.
Stupid is as stupid does.

17. There's different standards depending on the candidate... |
|
McCain gets a pass on a lot of things because he endured the horrors of being a prisoner of War. I've heard from others that his POW status makes him the most qualified to be POTUS. Nothing else matters.
Hillary gets a pass on a lot of things: she was First Lady, so she understands implicitly the White HOuse. She endured the public humiliation of her philandering husband, and so she has the 'chops' to endure the rigors of public life.
Barack Obama ... no pass at all; He is supposed to be pure as the driven snow (because his modus operandi of his campaign is 'a different politics.') And because he is AFrican American he has to be above the fray, be better, work harder, and not have any dirty laundry anywhere... He can't associate with anyone with any kind of a past because it reflects on his judgment. NOt fair at all, but that's the perception.
And we, the citizens of this mess, go along with those templates. There can be no crossover, nothing about REv. Hagey sticks to McCain, nothing about Bill sticks to Hillary.
