tough garbanzo beans, hillworldrers. Wright isn't a dead girl or live boy

Obama survived Wright round 1, and he's very likely to survive Wright round 2. I know you don't think he can, but then again, you were ALL convinced that the Wright stuff would do him in when it first emerged. Well, of course you were. Because anything that was focused on as negatively as Wright by the MSM, would kill Velcro Hill's candidacy. The distraction of Wright may cost Obama a few points in Indiana and NC, but it won't tank him. Could I be wrong? Sure, but I wasn't last time re Wright and YOU were. I didn't see one hillworlder who said he could survive Wright when the story first broke. Yesterday's endorsements by Senator Bingaman (yes, he's a powerful dem) and a SD out of MA, demonstrates that Obama's campaign will keep doing what they do best- maintaining an even keel. I saw Axelrod on Matthews last night for the first time, and was very impressed by his equanimity.

And no, Wright doesn't "prove" that Obama is an unelectable disaster in the general, hillworlders. It does demonstrate that Obama, unlike Hapless Hill, does have teflon and is adroit at dealing with incoming.

So, if you think that Hill is now guaranteed the nomination, think again, she may be 5% more likely to get it because of Wright. Tough for her, that's unlikely to make the difference.

3. Better to be done with it now than in November.
People get tired of stuff like this anyway.

I do hope Obama gives another kick ass speech. I haven't heard enough of him lately

4. lol pulling stuff out of your butt doesn't make it true.
I wrote back in January, two months before it became a prominent story, that Wright would be a big story and a big problem for Obama. When the story did break big in mid March, I said it could destroy his candidacy and and we'd need a couple of weeks to find out if he could survive it. I further said, that if he survived it, that would bode well for the general election because it would show that he has teflon and is adroit at deflecting incoming. I was pretty accurate. Oh, and go do a search and you'll find those OPs.

5. That's the way - don't let em get ya down Cali!!
OF COURSE the Hill-billies are going to seize on the latest Wright scandal, what else do they have to cling to? Yeah, I said it. Look, I wouldn't FOR A SECOND have Obama swap positions/scandals with Clinton, no way - no how. The corporate-owned media and the repugs are piling on Wright BECAUSE of how close Obama is to securing the nomination. If they thought Clinton had a shot, they'd be gunning for her, but let's face it, at this stage they don't. Obama would have to collapse in votes for the rest of the primaries for Hillary to stand a ghost of a chance, and that ain't gonna happen. Obama picked up 2 new super-delegates yesterday, and will get more today ... drip, drip. On top of that, Obama is at his best when he's under-estimated, count on it. :)

6. He will probably survive round 2, given his lead in delegates in Feb. But he likely won't win 3.

8. I disagree. He has a very good chance at beating JMac
Look, the disasterous economy will be even worse come November, and that's a big advantage for the dem nominee. It will be the number 1 issue with a degree of urgency we haven't seen in decades. Plus Obama is a much, much better campaigner than JMac.

12. If the economy tanks, he will win. I agree. Otherwise, he won't.
The MSM will make the election about personality, not about issues or campaigning.

13. I don't know where you live
but in most parts of the coutry the economy has tanked. We're in a recession. Where I live, people are truly suffering the effects of it. And as for personality, on that issue, Obama is plenty competitive, no matter the MSM.

This is no time for crowing nor for throwing additional insults.
What's happening here is very painful.
Don't wind up the glee-mongers.
There is no glee to be had.
Let's keep steady and see what happens.
It's out of our control.

19. there's no bitterness in my OP, dear
politics is rough and tumble, and Obama has to be able to deal with anything thrown his way. I don't see this as devastating for his campaign, and unlike you, I don't whine and shit my pants when things are tough for my candidate.
