Can't you see???
It's happening again. We can sit on here and bitch & moan all day about how Reverend Wright has a a right to go out and speak his mind and we won't allow Obama to be swift-boated but that's bullshit. Maybe it's just me because I live in the south, well VA is more of a border state but my point is this...

I know many people who are disillusioned conservatives who are seriously considering voting Democrat this year and just when the fiasco seemed to be over, Reverend Wright stokes the fire and these people are scared shitless. I didn't say it was right or wrong, I just see how they react to his statements.

Is it just me, or does Wright come across just a wee bit arrogant? I'm telling you, this kind of shit makes waves among so-called "independent voters." And we can sit on here and talk about those people are idiots and all this and that but if this shit keeps up... John McCain is going to be the next fucking President of the United States. It's fucking happening again...Can't you see???

Now is not the time to get discouraged and assume such things; we need to press on and work towards victory in November
:hi:

5. I'm sorry...
I can't view this as a good thing. Call me paranoid, but I see it...not on polls or the MSM version, I see it on the street. This shit bothers people and I blame Reverend Wright. He is a smart man and should have known...he did know, he pretty much said he didn't care. Once again, fucking religion rears it's ugly head in the political arena. I'm SO fucking pissed off...:grr:

who sleeps fine at night.

I think Obama will be just fine, actually. Bad Mass accents and getting neuroscience wrong has never sunk an associate's candidacy.

Jumping ship in fear of controversy has, though. Several times.

6. I'm not jumping ship...
But I know people who are. Sure, the true progressives like us aren't even considering going anywhere...but do you think we're enough to carry the election? Fuck no. I hope you're right though, I really do. I would love for you to send me an e-mail in November and say "see Stump, I told you we would be okay!" I hope you're right...I really do.

4. yes I see it
the polls they were talking about this morning showed Hillary gaining in indies and young voters.

If the party stays divided McCain will certainly win, and Wright is only about himself.

7. I have no clue how to do this
but I wish there was a way to insist that the MSM give 'equal time' to the crackpot preachers that McCain seeks out. Talk about loonies. But the silence is deafening.

We're supposed to be about separation of Church and State in this country but to listen to what is going on now one can almost believe the next step will be microphones set up by the government to monitor speech in churches. If the preacher gives an outrageous speech then those in the congregation must be suspect. But only if it comes from a 'liberal' church. And I suspect there are plenty of right winger fundie Xtians out there who would find such tactics acceptable.

This bothers me on so many levels because I think there is an element of invasion of privacy in this. What goes on in one's Church should be private, unless it's something criminal like abuse.

I can't imagine that there aren't plenty of people out there who have heard things from their pastors that they disagree with.

Honestly, the people I worked with last night weren't even aware of it. A lot of people aren't political junkies like us. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes its a bad thing that people don't keep up on their current events! lol

10. Interesting...
But it still seems like looking through rose-colored glasses. Wright did this out of selfish ambition in my opinion.

9. rev. wright having a negative effect?...obvious, for now...
$4 - $4.50 - hell, $5 gas...unless the rev. is buying americans gasoline for their vehicles his importance will fade by fall...

of course, they will run him out for 'scare'...but anybody who truly wants things to get corrected aren't going to worry about this guy being the symbol of 'bad path'...

food and energy prices are going through the roof WORLDWIDE...and we are feeling it here...this fall is going to be about YOU and how things are for YOU in America these days...

if a crazy preacher makes you vote against your own concerns, your own best interests, then that is on YOU....

14. Yes he comes across as arrogant. Buthe is not Obama.
And Obama is not responsible for Wright's words or actions.

I think more voters are more concerned with issues than this bullshit.

ask yourself a question

What can I DO to alleviate the problem?

Then DO those things.

you can't control the media and the MEDIA is the problem...

ok?

you have TO BE THE MEDIA... see?

it's the only way
