You know what? Let her have it.
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 09:32 AM by yourguide
It's obvious to me that HRC & Co will stop at nothing, and I mean nothing, to Veruca Salt this nomination. She has no path to victory short of destroying Obama and she has been plowing down that path for the past 6 weeks.

The truth is, even NY is in play with Clinton as a nominee, her own home state is in play in a contest between her v. McLame. WHat does that say about her ability to win?

I say screw it, let her have it, she will not win against McSame. Obama is damaged goods? Obama hasn't throw the kitchen sink at her and as we all know she has about 3 times the skeletons (and vince fosters) in her closet than Obama has. The rethugs will do a number on her like she hasnt seen.

Once losing in November she is officially damaged goods, Kerry status, when it comes to presidential politics.

So let her have it and let her lose, that opens the door for Obama in 2012.

Dirty dirty dirty politics and she makes me sick.

2. No. And Obama isn't running in 2012. This is a one time shot.
Michelle made that perfectly clear before this run.

3. At this point, it's best to ignore Hillary. She will not be the nominee.
For Obama and any of his supporters to further prolong the inevitable by engaging with her and her supporters is pointless. Obama has bigger fish to fry with McCain in the GE and that's where our attention needs to be. The DNC has started with their ads; we need to follow their lead. :hi:

4. Every Dem in NY is in a little bit of trouble this year. They need to make a U-Turn NOW
Or Kirsten Gillibrand, Michael Arcuri, and maybe even Louise Slaughter will find themselves with a pink slip

The race is too important. He's in trouble; he's got to deal with it. Let's wish him luck and hope he makes the right moves.

6. I think the Democratic support for her as the nominee would be half-hearted
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 09:24 AM by bambino
the new excitement in the Democratic Party would be truly extinguished if she is nominated. I think many would stay at home. Like voting for stale bread.

Obama has to be the nominee in 08.

17. I don't think my BF and I would support her at all.
A week ago I said I would and after seeing that her surrogates were responsible for the Rev Wright press tour (granted he certainly dug his own grave) I am back to no way will I vote for her.

7. i've been feeling the same way for awhile now too...
although i'd rather see it play out as mccain being deposed in 2010 by a people's revolution that installs Al Gore in his rightful place as potus from the actual results of the 2000 coup.

a guy can day-dream, can't he...?

9. on one hand, i keep thinking 'it is just politics and it gets dirty no matter what'...
and on the other hand, i'm tired of this onslaught of negative campaigning TO GET US OUR NOMINEE while the warjoker gets light work...

and i worry whether the damage to our nominee is LESS/GREATER than it seems at present...

johnny is extremely vulnerable ONCE WE GET TO HIM...timing is everything, and that clock is ticking....

it ain't easy to make things change...maybe this is just the road we have to follow...

conventional wisdom would allow that throwers of shit get just as much on themselves...

let's just get to the end and take on the REAL battle, the battle to take our country back...

Regardless of how sick Hillary makes you right now, you'd be feeling one hell of a lot worse after four years of this:

14. He's fine! : )
He's going to win this thing. He picked up 3 SD's since the whole resurfacing of the Rev. Wright thing, which is the ONLY thing they have on him. He was on top of his game yesterday, and he had that "fire in the gut" town hall that absolutely ROCKED. He's weathering things just fine 'n dandy. He looked better than I've seen him look in a while. Made strong arguments against Hillary and took some good swings at John McCrazy.

We don't have to worry about her, even if she doesn't get the nomination. She's ruining her image even further the longer this goes on, which isn't helping her win the nomination. Just take a breather or something for a day out of the primary gutter and you'll probably see things in a different light.

15. No surrender!
:D

And IMHO, she's already damaged goods.

If you give up, you become her enabler by rewarding her for the disgusting "win at all costs" campaign she is running. If you give up, you become the parent of the toddler in the store who gives in to the screaming. That's not me. Not now. Not ever.

If she continues to make this race so contentious that the nomination becomes a prize not worth winning, then I say let her have it, and give Obama another chance in 2012.

Some guests have to be told, repeatedly, it's time to leave. She's one of those.

27. My only problem with that, is that when she inevitably loses to McCain
she will blame Obama. The progressives will be fingered just as when Gore 'lost' and when Kerry 'lost', reinforcing the notion that the DLC are really here to save the Democrats from ourselves.

That's why I refuse to concede a thing - If Obama gets the nomination, he will win, and that will be the end of the DLC era. If Hillary gets the nomination she will lose - but win or lose, we will be stuck with the DLC for another 4 election cycles.

Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 10:23 AM by blm
And Obama and Dem party is the beneficiary of much of Kerry's organization from 2002-2006, too.

And PS, your idea is absurd. The ONLY way Clinton wins is if Obama stopped running. Why should he when he is already the known nominee?
