Who should Senator Clinton pick as her VP?
I used to think that Senators Obama and Clinton would probably end up on the same ticket as an unity ticket, but now with Obama being radioactive, I don't think Senator Clinton can afford to choose him. I'd like to see her pick someone that is more liberal than she is. Maybe John Edwards but that might not work. Ted Strickland is popular sure but SUSA already has Clinton 11 points ahead in Ohio so I'm not sure she needs him. Bayh is very attractive to be sure but he's much more conservative than I would prefer. Rendell is out as Clinton will carry PA anyway.

An old economic hand might be a good choice like Robert Rubin or a foreign policy expert extraordinarie like Richard Holbrooke.

I'm open to more names as well.

But she is, after the events of yesterday, highly likely to be the democratic nominee. Nominees choose running mates.

32. Clark could bring in the South
but I'm not sure about that. In 2004, when he was running, local Democrats here weren't sure he was Southern enough for their tastes. Our local county chair said he didn't think Clark was "pro-gun" enough. In the end, the county Democratic committee refused to endorse Kerry, the nominee, using that same lame excuse. I was a member of a renegade group that did what the Democratic Committee should do-ran ads, drove people to the polls, etc.

22. Best to choose a VP from a state
that is purple or borderline red, where there's a chance of making it blue if the right person is named. Frankly, I don't know who is supporting whom any more, so I can't name names. Bayh may be a good one, but does Indiana garner enough electoral votes to make Clinton the winner in a tight race? What about PA? Anyone from there who would help?

39. Wrong
Obama is finished in presidential politics. I think a strong GOP candidate could even give him a 50-50 or 51-49 race for his senate seat in Illinois post Wright and in a midterm election year where democrats might have the wind blowing against them since the 2 year mark of a presidency is usually a good year for the opposition party to pick up seats. Obama will be a prime target i'm sure.

Not in a million years. The DNC knows that would split the party apart for a generation.

Obama put Wright in his place and once the frenzy settles, he will be back on track to secure the nomination by May 20th.

threads of this sort the Obama supporters have had over the last few months (I won't do the Bot thing or use invective like they do in describing them), and they can't even let this one roll without shitting all over it. Funny, that.

I think Bayh is a good pick, because he will reassure the independents who think HRC is too liberal. After all, if it came down to McCain - Clinton, where is the far left gonna go? If they toodle off to Nader, then they'd better keep walking. And they will be walking, because they won't be able to ride...

Hillarious is the SAME OLD SHIT. The Clintons gave us BUSH. Now you want us to jump on the bandwagon so that we can have JEB BUSH in 4 or 8. No thanks, we want a new direction.

You are not entitled to have Hillary as President, so come to grips with that please. She will bring out the multitudes in November, the multitudes of McInsane voters, and as a result the down ballot will suffer. The reasons we want a new direction are too numerous to mention. Most of all, we just plain don't like her that much.

Hillarious is more of the same. So are your posts. Got 70%?

Based on that post.

Two uses of the pejorative "Hillarious," one of "The Clintons" and a shitload of lame whines and generalizations.

It's a failed argument when you have to stoop to name calling, you know. It says so much about you. None of it is terribly impressive, either.

I'm not the one claiming "entitlement," here. You are. I want the race to continue. The train has nine more stops to make. Get on board, or sit on the platform crying. I don't care either way. Your petty insults can't hurt or embarrass anyone but yourself.

But like I said, I feel your pain.

See if she can do it without my support, or the support of any of the people I went to North Carolina with over the weekend. Not saying I won't vote for her, but she'll have to earn it, and people like you who want to just take black and young voters for granted make me really tempted to sit on my hands just to prove Democrats can't win without us.

At this point, I'm just about ready to let her have the nomination, just so African Americans can prove they can't be taken for granted. I went to NC over the weekend with some African American Obama volunteers who have voted Democratic their whole lives but won't vote for Clinton and I can hardly say I blame them. As for me, I guess I would do what Clinton did with the banking bill - vote for her, but hope she doesn't pass.

88. Maybe. It depends how this Wright thing plays out.
If it dies down a little and they can control it properly, Obama may not be finished in national politics. In that case, I would like to see him in a VP slot, to heal some of the anger and divisiveness in the party. If this keeps getting worse (which it seems to be) I'd prefer the weightiness and experience of Clark or Biden.

Get used to it guys-Hillary is going to be the nominee. And it won't be so bad. Trust me. First woman in the white house. How cool is that???!!!!! First "first" husband! How cool is that. Hillary will have learned from Bill's 1st term and won't make the same mistakes this time. She'll end the war. Pass universal health care. HIt the ground running.

Trust me, it'll be great. I fell for the MSM smears of her for too long and that's why I fell into Obama's camp. I've awakened from that nightmare at last. I've also realized that if Obama hadn't be running, I would have strongly supported HRC much sooner.

53. I would be honored to see them both on the same ticket.
They would make an awesome team. But Obama should be at the head of that ticket since he is leading in delegates at this point. They may have to team up at some point because neither of them can win without the other. They are both quite damaged at this point. The party is split nearly in half in votes tallied.

130. Obama will be the nominee in Denver. Senator Clinton has lost the nomination.
If Obama is carried away on a space ship to an irretrievable destination thus revoking his presidency, Clinton may not be the only one who remains within reach of the job.

What then if Al Gore or John Edwards or Bill Richardson stood in and said, "Hey, you Obama delegates, he was a peach, but in his absence, you still need a candidate for meaningful reform, and if you'll support me as a stand-in, I will carry your numbers and best aspirations to the nominating stage in Denver."
