Why is Obama NOW outraged, but wasn't a month ago?
Why didn't he get "outraged" in the last 20 years?

48. Obama is just another politician -- nothing new about him.
Same thing is true about more debates. Obama refuses them because that's what old-style politicians do -- the kind of old-style politicians he says he repudiates.

I thought BO represented CHANGE.

So how come the CHANGE looks like nothing but politics as usual?

69. anyone who watched and listened to his comments KNOWS why he is now outraged
and rightly so.

Wright went on a media blitz that he was invited on by a Clinton supporter.
Wright went off the deep end.

A frigging 3 day tour.

Obama is a gracious and decent man who did not want to have to publicly
criticize this man or any other man.

79. she is no better
So what?

But maybe.... she is no worse.

That would mean that perhaps all of the vicious attacks against the "Clintonistas" - defined as anyone who expresses any reservations whatsoever about the Obama phenomenon - are the source of the acrimony and feuding and lack of unity, and that maybe the way the Obama supporters are defining the good guys and the bad guys is not accurate or practicable, and is in fact causing the divisiveness, not healing it.

You called Obama a liar with no evidence and also called Hillary a liar (because you know there is evidence of her lies).

If your opinion of both candidates is that they are just big liars then you must be rePube in disguise stirring up trouble here. And if you aren't then I wonder what your real motivations are.

35. Wright ATTACKED OBAMA'S CREDIBILITY recently ... not 20 years ago
It's one thing for a minister to say some politically incorrect things
from a pulpit, but when he implies that Obama isn't genuine -- that he's
just doing things for POLITICAL REASONS -- that would get me outraged
as well.

Wright realized that he had some "credibility" with the sucky MSM and
he was using it to DESTROY Obama's campaign. It's about fucking time
Obama cut the guy loose. He gave him the benefit of the doubt for as
long as he could -- as ANY GOOD CHRISTIAN WOULD -- but once the guy showed
his disrespect for the work Obama has been doing and the kind of
campaign he's been running, it was time for Wright to go.

ANYONE WHO KEEPS COVERING WRIGHT AFTER THIS IS ENGAGING IN GUTTER
POLITICS.

The title of one of Obama's books was based on one
of Wright's sermons. How can he distance himself from him now? Isn't it a little late? I think this has already tarnished him. He just threw Wright under the bus by claiming that he hardly knows him. I wonder what Wright's reaction to this will be.

36. This is the correct response
Wright took the NAACP pulpit not to help a man that had been in his congregation for 20 years, but to boost himself. I am saddened how this has unfolded. And it is ridiculous how some on DU take such glee in this. Whatever, assholes, your candidate has been done for awhile now, but she'll continue to take your money until the day she bows out. And this is only directed at the assholes braying about Wright, so if you are not one, that is not directed at you.

SUMMARY

FIRST FIRST LADY to come under criminal investigation

FIRST FIRST LADY to almost be indicted acccording to one of the special prosecutors

NUMBER of Hillary Clinton fundraisers convicted of, or pleading no contest to, crime: 5

NUMBER OF TIMES that Hillary Clinton, providing testimony to Congress, said that she didn't remember, didn't know, or something similar: 250

NUMBER OF CLOSE BUSINESS partners of Hillary Clinton who ended up in prison: 3. The Clintons' two partners in Whitewater wereconvicted of 24 counts of fraud and conspiracy. Hillary Clinton's partner and mentor at the Rose law firm, Webster Hubbell, pleaded guilty to federal mail fraud and tax evasion charges, including defrauding former clients and former partners out of more than $480,000. Hillary Clinton was mentioned 35 times in the indictment.

IN THE 1980s, Hillary Clinton made a $44,000 profit on a $2,000 investment in a cellular phone franchise deal took advantage of the FCC's preference for locals, minorities and women. The franchise was almost immediately flipped to the cellular giant, McCaw.

HILLARY CLINTON AND HER HUSBAND set up a resort land scam known as Whitewater in which the unwitting bought third rate property 50 miles from the nearest grocery store and, thanks to the sleazy financing, about half the purchasers, many of them seniors, lost their property.

IN 1993 HILLARY CLINTON and David Watkins moved to oust the White House travel office in favor of World Wide Travel, Clinton's source of $1 million in fly-now-pay-later campaign trips that essentially financed the last stages of the campaign without the bother of reporting a de facto contribution. The White House fired seven long-term employees for alleged mismanagement and kickbacks. The director, Billy Dale, charged with embezzlement, was acquitted in less than two hours by the jury.

HRC'S 1994 HEALTH CARE PLAN, according to one account, included fines of up to $5,000 for refusing to join the government-mandated health plan, $5,000 for failing to pay premiums on time, 15 years to doctors who received "anything of value" in exchange for helping patients short-circuit the bureaucracy, $10,000 a day for faulty physician paperwork, $50,000 for unauthorized patient treatment, and $100,000 a day for drug companies that messed up federal filings.

TWO MONTHS after commencing the Whitewater scheme, Hillary Clinton invested $1,000 in cattle futures. Within a few days she had a $5,000 profit. Before bailing out she earns nearly $100,000 on her investment. Many years later, several economists will calculate that the chances of earning such returns legally were one in 250 million.

IN 1996, Hillary Clinton's Rose law firm billing records, sought for two years by congressional investigators and the special prosecutor were found in the back room of the personal residence at the White House. Clinton said she had no idea how they got there.

DRUG DEALER Jorge Cabrera gave enough to the Democrats to have his picture taken with both Hillary Clinton and Al Gore. . . Cabrera was arrested in January 1996 inside a cigar warehouse near here in Dade County, where more than 500 pounds of cocaine had been hidden. He and several accomplices were charged with having smuggled 3,000 pounds of cocaine into the United States through the Keys

In 2000, Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign returned $22,000 in soft money to a businesswoman linked to a Democratic campaign contribution from a drug smuggler in Havana.

IN AUGUST 2000, Hillary Clinton held a huge Hollywood fundraiser for her Senate campaign. It was very successful. The only problem was that, by a long shot, she didn't report all the money contributed: $800K by the US government's ultimate count in a settlement and $2 million according to the key contributor and convicted con Peter Paul. This is, in election law, the moral equivalent of not reporting a similar amount on your income tax. It is a form of fraud. Hillary Clinton's defense is that she didn't know about it

HILLARY CLINTON'S participation in a Whitewater related land deal became suspicious enough to trigger an investigation by the Arkansas Supreme Court.

IN 2007, A Pakistani immigrant who hosted fundraisers for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton became a target of the FBI allegations that he funneled illegal contributions to Clinton's political action committee and to Sen. Barbara Boxer's 2004 re-election campaign. Authorities say Northridge, Calif., businessman Abdul Rehman Jinnah, 56, fled the country shortly after being indicted on charges of engineering more than $50,000 in illegal donations to the Democratic committees.

HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTED the appointment of Rudy Giuliani's buddy, Bernie Kerick, to be Secretary of Homeland Security,. Kerick subsecquently withdrew and not long after was indicted.

Why wasn't she against it back in 2002-2003?

Answer: Because people have a right to change their minds as circumstances warrant.

It's not a crime or a character flaw. To the contrary, do you want another block headed President that won't admit he or she's wrong and will stubbornly cling to their bad decisions no matter how much it hurts the country?

Why is Obama's religion being used as a litmus test for being worthy of office? Have we stepped into the Twilight Zone? A place where Democrats have to prove their religious zeal to become president? Are you in that much of a hurry to hand this country over to the religious right? Good luck with that. Frankly you can take your religious rantings over to the other side of the isle. That was the point of pummelling him on this 24/7.

Now watch: Obama's said his piece, but the M$M still won't let it go away. The only way they do is when Obama loses enough traction to guarrantee the brokered convention they've had a hard-on for since February.

All about the horse race, kids.

Giddyup. :eyes:

51. It looks like you're pissed you can't hang Wright on Obama's neck anymore
Yesterday's address by Wright was finally enough that Obama had to cut bait. The media, Clinton and McCain were all too eager to try to link what Wright says to Obama.

That's gone now.

He KNEW Wright just fine. He KNEW what Wright was saying whether he heard it from the pulpit or not. And now, Wright dissed him and he threw him under the bus.

70. I'm new here
I just wanted to say the following. Why is Obama expected to know his pastor in and out and all that is in his heart and stand to be judged for having him as a pastor and yet Senator Clinton isn't being judged based on picking her husband of more than 20 years?

Senator Clinton's HUSBAND lied on camera to the american people
How come she isn't called on her judgment to not know the man she laid down with every night was having "sexual relations" with other women?
She is not judged for his 800k profit in the Colombia dealings.
She's not been judged about Mark Penn and his dealings.
Her judgment hasn't been called into questions about her husbands upcoming trial with Peter Paul.

It's been stated that Senator Clinton is NOT HER husband but Senator Obama is not his pastor. I'm sure Senator Clinton is closer to her husband that Obama has ever been to his Pastor. So if Senator Clinton gets as pass for not knowing all that her husband has done right under her nose why is it so hard for some to understand that you can go to a church and not know all that the pastor believes?

I was raised Catholic and NEVER walked out of the Catholic church yet I am pro choice.I believe in HUMAN rights so I don't think there should be "gay rights" because to me gays are NO DIFFERENT than me because they are human and should have all the same rights that I have period and it shouldn't have to be categorized as gay rights.

I am a black/hispanic woman raised in the catholic church who married a white Mormon and we have a 6 year old daughter. Like most people I take what I want from church and leave the rest. Maybe that makes me not a "devote" christian but I do what's in my heart and I believe Obama did the same.

If Senator Clinton and her supporters want the benefit of the doubt the same has to be given to Obama in my opinion.

74. Welcome to DU!
:hi:

One reason HRC never left Bill is she knew she could never run for President if she divorced him. She needed his coattails to have even a slim chance of succeeding. History has shown that this is why she put up with him.
HRC cultist believe she has been fully vetted when the opposite is true. Obviously the Reps have a ton of undisclosed info that they can use against her and that is why they want her to win the nom. Obama threw wrench in their plans... thankfully.

Where was the "outrage" over Gennifer Flowers, Mrs. Arkansas, Paula Jones, and Lewinsky? Do you really buy her story that she truly thought it was a right-wing conspiracy and believed Bill until he told her one day shortly before confessing to the public?

Boy did Reverend Wright call it correctly the other day. He indicated that Barack is the kind of guy who will say politically what needs to be said regardless of what he believes. Well, Barack proved him right. Two months ago he had never heard Wright say anything objectionable in 20 years. Now, apparently, in the last eight weeks, aliens have taken over the body and mind of Wright and he is saying things he has never said before. Right? Wrong.

What do you think?

UPDATE. Compare Obama’s statements today with what he said in the past. What has he learned about Wright in the last eight weeks that he did not know previously? Obama indicated he had heard Wright say objectionable things about the United States, but he could shrug it off during his Philly speech. I think we are seeing the emergence of a new illness–Obama Acquired Memory Recovery. He spent twenty years with Wright but really did not know that he held such objectionable views? He has spent approximately twenty years with William Ayers and barely knows the guy? He spent 18 years with Tony Rezko and barely knows him? Sure sounds like Obama does not know much of anything.
