Chris Matthews is an asshole. Always has been and always will be.

Discuss.

12. He just is.
Sometimes I actually like what he's saying, I think he peppers his bullshit with truth occassionally to appear balanced, independent and unpredictable but it's still bullshit. Sometimes I wonder how mentally stable he is. I think I just saw him quoted a few too many times today and I snapped.

He is not to be respected or trusted. He's the embodiment of all that is wrong with the whole media today. And he actually is fantasizing about running for Senate for PA soon? Absurd. The way he tries to paint himself as some blue collar guy instead of someone so on the inside and privileged just insults our intelligence. The only time he's tolerable is when I see Keith Olbermann cringe when he speaks as well.

3. I second that! He's another one ticked that the Wright story just
might go away. I'm getting really sick and tired of Tweety myself.

5. What? Saliva man do something gross?
What annoys me most about Tweetie is that he won't shut up after asking a question. Just ask the question and SHUT UP, Chris! People don't watch MSNBC just to hear you talk.

In fact, if you'd shut the hell up people might watch more often.

Note to MSNBC: Rachel Maddow is much better than Matthews. Give her a show, and expand the time she's on the network. She is an asset, Chris is not.

swagger, who's physical, who's not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern. They want a guy who's president. Women like a guy who's president. Check it out. The women like this war. I think we like having a hero as our president. It's simple. We're not like the Brits."
(MSNBC's Chris Matthews, 5/1/03)

"Why don't the damn Democrats give the president his day? He won today. He did well today."
(MSNBC's Chris Matthews, 4/9/03)

"What's he going to talk about a year from now, the fact that the war went too well and it's over? I mean, don't these things sort of lose their--Isn't there a fresh date on some of these debate points?"
(MSNBC's Chris Matthews, speaking about Howard Dean--4/9/03)

On the other hand, he also supposedly said:

"I can't find a reason to be for this war. I've looked, and I can't, so I'm not." (date unknown)

"I mean, they contend we're going to be received as liberators, not aggressors or colonizers. Well, how do they know? I mean, somebody honest like Ken Pollack will say, 'You know, we don't really know.'" (date unknown)

"I keep wondering: Is there such a thing as a neo-conservative who doesn't have a column? I'm serious about this. Is it required to have a column to be a neo-conservative? I don't know anybody who doesn't have some kind of column who's a neo-conservative." (date unknown)

10. He had to use "narcissistic" to describe Obama, since it's been used
a lot recently to describe both Senator and former President Clinton.
He makes me ill.

17. I'm drawing from memory here, and I'm old *lol* so it's a paraphrase
But Tweety said something, in answer to a question from Andrea Mitchell as to whether this presser was necessary or a good move on the part of Senator Obama, and Tweety said something like, "...he's a proud man, some might even say a narcissistic man, and he was offended..." or words to that effect; I believe the "he's a proud man" is pretty direct as a quote...I'm still looking for transcripts from the actual presser and the MSNBC coverage following.

as a corporate media hooore. Matthews is in the top tier of media assholes.
