Why did Obama prostitute himself before the Fascist Propaganda Network on Sunday? |
|
I voted for Obama in CT's primary and a couple weeks ago made my first donation to his campaign, but his terrible performance on Faux News on Sunday reminded me why I have misgivings about Obama -- he's a closet Clintonite.
Obama should NEVER have gone on Faux News, the Fascist Propaganda Network. By going on their network he helped their con game and helped make them look like a credible news network. Obama easily got suckered by the Reich Wing talking points, some of which he mouthed, and threw us progressives under the bus. While he's better than Hillary and McShame, Obama won't be better. If he was committed to going on Faux News, he should have used the time to REFRAME the Reich Wing talking points and educate the Reich Wingers that Faux News is a divisive network ,who contrary to the facts, labels Democrats and liberals as traitors and anti-Americans.
Obama wasted his time by going on the Fascist Propaganda Network and did harm to his progressive supporters. Shame on Obama!

1. And now you will be told why it was BRILLIANT! |
|
BO-polar disorder: when suddenly things which just last week were unspeakably awful are now the BEST THING EVER, cause Obama said so. Like Ronald Reagan, and healthcare plans that leave people uninsured.

Obama cannot win on progressives alone. Not ALL Fox viewers (although certainly a higher percentage of them) are all that right wing.

21. Precisely. These low education, low income, low information voters... |

...aren't exactly rabid consumers of the liberal blogs.
I know I sound classist using those terms, but that is exactly how pollsters and the media have defined Clinton's supporters.

Obama got my vote because he was the only viable candidate left by the Feb. 5 primary. I live in CT and CT's primary was on Feb. 5.
I wasn't enthusiastic about any of the Dem Prez candidates this year. That's my point of view.

especially when referring to progressives and liberal bloggers. That's what is terrible.
And his first mistake was going on Faux News in the first place. They are an unapologetic Fascist Propaganda network set up to take down Democrats and liberals.

Chablis-drinking liberal? I've honestly never heard that.
I've heard "latte liberal" more times than I can count... but more often lately that's from Hillary's campaign. Unsurprisingly.

Obama didn't repudiate Faux News talking points about liberals. He added to their anti-liberal vocabulary.
He should have denounced Faux News propaganda against Democrats and liberals as strongly as he denounced Rev. Wright.
If you do a scan on my post name, you will see where I bash Hillary and criticze Obama. I'm actually tougher on Hillary than Obama, but Obama is starting to grate my nerves with his pro-right wing shift.

back when he was saying nice things about the GOP...
But honestly you have to have expected the shift to the right. It happens to every candidate in the GE... they move to the other side, to get the moderates.
Anyway... hope he manages to conduct such shifts with more deftness in the future... I'd rather he didn't manage to lose any votes between now and Nov... but politics is a strange business.
Thanks for indulging my curiosity. And for tolerating my... um... exuberance.

I only caught part of the broadcast but I saw Obama say good things about Reaganomics and Patreus's fine capabilities.
That was telling enough for me.

So why did Hillary agree to go on The O'Reilly Factor and will she be taking on O'Reilly in some way, as Obama was criticized for not doing during his interview with Fox's Chris Wallace?
I just posed these questions to Hillary spokesperson Howard Wolfson. He would only say:
"We've had a standing offer from them for a while -- Hillary obviously doesn't agree with Bill O'Reilly on many issues, but he has a large audience of politically engaged people." They may be politically engaged, but are they persuadable in any way? Some 2004 polling suggested that Fox viewers supported Bush over Kerry by 88%-7% and gave Bush more votes than conservatives, white evangelicals, gun owners, and supporters of the Iraq War.
Meanwhile, a senior adviser to Hillary, asked whether she'd be taking on O'Reilly in some fashion, said, on condition of anonymity:
"That's not the plan."http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/04/hillary_senior_adviser_on_whet.php
