Is this GD Primaries/Politics, or GD Principles?
Sometimes (usually?) you can't have both. I'm just interested, in the aftermath of Obama's press conference and the break with Rev. Wright -- which most commentators thought necessary as his campaign continued, necessary for the candidate to be seen as a strong and decisive leader -- how DUers deal with this kind of dilemma.

My personal view is a practical one. I want to win this election. And I was offended by some of what Rev. Wright said myself, and angered by his betrayal of Obama.

But I'm not interested in arguing, or even supporting, my own view. (And I'm even less interested in discussion of the war between the candidate supporters -- there's more than enough of that.) I'm interested in throwing light on DU, which grew out of an act by the Supreme Court that involved both politics and principle, and whether politics and winning in order to accomplish worthy goals, or standing by principle -- when the two conflict -- is more important to DUers.
