Bush Military Records "Inadvertently " Destroyed
Edited on Fri Jul-09-04 12:59 PM by demwing2
OOOPS!

So sorry about that guys! We really wanted to shed some light on the issue, but damn it if the specific records you were looking for were damaged somehow. Tough break eh? Oh..Back up copies? Uhm..

well. Seems we can't find those..er..uhmm. Yes. Right. Next question?

Pentagon: Bush Military Records Destroyed

WASHINGTON - Military payroll records that could more fully document President Bush (news - web sites)'s whereabouts during his service in the Texas Air National Guard were inadvertently destroyed, according to the Pentagon (news - web sites).

In a letter responding to a freedom of information request by The Associated Press, the Defense Department said that microfilm containing the pertinent National Guard payroll records was damaged and could not be salvaged. The damaged material included payroll records for the first quarter of 1969 and the third quarter of 1972.

"President Bush's payroll records for those two quarters were among the records destroyed," wrote C.Y. Talbott, of the Pentagon's Freedom of Information and Security Review section. "Searches for back-up paper copies of the missing records were unsuccessful."

Why does the military support this bastard? How can we hope to get around these unbelieveable liars and forcea fair election?

Maybe we need to call in outside help from the UN or something. Damn. I was feeling so enthusiastic...

1. There was only ONE copy? The military doesn't make only ONE copy
of anything. Even a procurement order for toilet paper is in triplicate. They are either lying or incompetent - or both.

3. I'll cast my vote for "Lying"
though I have my own feelings about the Pentagon's competency level.

2. today when I was gardening listening to NPR. . .
the heavens openned and a tinfoil hat strangely descended onto my cranium and I thought, "Gee these doubts on this Marine (Houssen (sp?)'s story are starting to arise as to whether or not his story was plausible and his absence had been initially catagorized as AWOL.

Then he is happily and mysteriously reunited with US forces at the embassy in Lebanon and shipped off to Germany for debriefing (reprogramming).

What if the first thing he told them was I did nothing other than what our commander in chief did in '72-3. . . and poof goes the microfiche. Such a curious coincidence. . .?

Then I tore off that nasty tin foil hat, threw it in the burn pile and thought

of Britney's wise words. . ."we should always trust our President."

6. So, where did Bush get his copies?
if the records were destroyed some 8 years ago, where did the Whitehouse get those records? Did Bush have copies sitting around since the 1960s? Why wasn't there a mention of the records being destroyed when Bush was asked to present them the first time?

Does anyone buy this horse shit?

7. "Inadvertently" must be a typo.
I think they meant to say "intentionally".
