295
Obama's magic number has dropped significantly in the last week. He now needs only 295 more delegates to reach 2024.

He only needs 137 pledged delegates to have the majority of elected delegates, expected to occur on May 20th.

Since April 21st Obama has picked up 9 Super Delegates and Clinton has picked up 4. She now leads him by only 20 Super Delegates.

Per DemconWatch - the most objective source of delegate details http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/01/superdelegate-list.html
4-21-08 - Added DNC Enid Goubeaux (OH) for Obama
4-23-08 Added Gov. Brad Henry (OK) for Obama.
- Added Rep. John Tanner (TN) for Clinton
- Added DNC Audra Ostergard (NE) for Obama
4-24-08 - Added Rep. David Wu (OR) for Obama
4-26-08 - Added Kathy Sullivan (NH)# new NH add-on, for Clinton.
- Added DNC Charlene Fernandez (AZ) new AZ state vice-chair, for Obama.
4-28-08 - Added Sen. Jeff Bingaman (NM) for Obama.
- Added Fmr. DNC Chairman Paul Kirk (MA) for Obama. He endorsed a while ago but we never had a valid source.

4-29-08 - Added Gov. Mike Easley (NC) for Clinton
- Added DNC Richard Machacek (IA) for Obama.
- Added Rep. Ben Chandler (KY) for Obama
- Added Rep. Ike Skelton (MO) for Clinton

13. In one week we will see a dramatic reduction of the total and Clinton
will have run out of primaries to even get close. Next Tuesday the math will be overwhelming.

Poor Crawford, to be known as the town where he hails from. It must be such a burden.

4. So that means it could be down to 35 or so pledged after next Tues.
191 up for grabs from guam 4, N.C. 115, and Indiana 72 He could easily win 100 or so. Thanks, I didn't realize it was that close to clinching.

10. 91
more Superdelegates would mean he only needs 50% of the remaining Pledged Delegates to clinch the nomination.

111 more Superdelegates, and he'd need only 45%.

There are about 250 undeclared Supers right now, not counting add-ons and vacancies.

What are they waiting for? Christmas?

29. Question: If they reach an agreement on MI and FL...

And agree to seat those delegates in some manner, does the 2024 number go up? I'm guessing 2024 is 50%+1 of the total delegates MINUS Florida and Michigan, so the number would change if the FL and MI delegations are added. Let's say Obama agrees to seat FL as-is and they split MI 50/50... what is his magic number then?

We use DemconWatch because they are impartial in waiting for a hard link before counting in one column or another.

It does indicate that in addition to the new super delegates that there will also be changes in the numbers as delegates intentions become clearer.
