Ahmadinejad Shrugs Off US Election
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says it makes no difference to his country who would win the presidential election in the United States.

Talking to reporters at the end of his visit to India on Tuesday, he said, "The US presidential election has no impact on the world situation and it also makes no difference to us who would win."

The president stated that US deceitful and bullying strategy will no longer work.

"The era of ruling by power and deceit is over, and today military might is not the determinant of political relations," IRNA quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.

Asked about Iran's nuclear standoff with the West, he said, "Oppressive powers can not hinder the development of the Iranian nation."

As a signatory to the non-proliferation regime, Iran has legal right to nuclear technlogy to enrich uranium for civilian purposes.

"Such powers want to be the only possessor of the nuclear technology so as to sell the technology at very high prices to other nations once the fossil fuels are depleted," he noted.
