I'll overlook your snarky comment because perhaps you didn't know that. I wore an Edwards button for months and was crushed when he dropped out of the primaries (right after I'd donated to him too). I felt that Edwards was also relatively overlooked by Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, and Randi Rhodes. None of them had anything really bad to say about Edwards, but they were all much more caught up in the Obama/Clinton story. It was more interesting to them. Thom Hartmann mentioned Edwards a lot, but he was the only one. I did watch Olbermann a lot and was frustrated that he rarely, rarely talked about JRE.

35. No, I'm not "taking it out" on KO. I think they are all culpable.

And I stopped listening to Stephanie Miller's three-hour Obama ads and Randi Rhodes' vicious diatribes against Hillary about the same time that I stopped watching KO when he opened up show after show with five anti-Hillary stories.

But this was all after Edwards dropped out. I don't think they even meant to ignore Edwards. But they all got caught up in the hype of the Clinton/Obama dynamics and Edwards just didn't get the face time.

I continued to watch KO and listen to the other shows for a while, but felt after a time I was getting nothing constructive from any of them. I don't consider no longer watching or listening to a show that bothers me is "turning on" someone. I just got over having people I liked working hard to divide their own audiences for the sake of what they think is entertainment value.


I still listen to Thom Hartmann and Rachel Maddow.

It seemed to me that he was making fun of the "unnamed source" in the NYT that claimed Edwards was holding out for a cabinet position. Oh well. We see different things. KO has long been considered sort of the liberal equiv of Bill O by a lot of the press (and some even say that Bill O is better because he invites more people that disagree with him. I personally could never watch Bill and can watch Keith even when he says things that I disagree with ) and has always seemed pissy to me, so I don't see the change especially.

When there was a near media blackout of Edwards, as well as marginalizing him in the debates, KO had him as well as Elizabeth on quite frequently. I had the sense that KO had tremendous respect for them, therefore he gave an opportunity for Edwards to get his message out on his show.

KO didn't "go after" John or Elizabeth Edwards. He merely reported that they were unlikely to endorse before the NC primary.

In fact, he paid them a compliment because he seemed skeptical of the idea that they weren't endorsing for fear of picking the loser. He gave more credence to the idea that the Edwardses think they'll be more effective working with Gore, Biden, and others as a group to shut things down after the last primary.
