I applaud Obama's decision to throw both Jimmy Carter and Jeremiah Wright under the bus
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 09:36 PM by candelovsky
Politics are not only about taking the fairest decisions. It's about strategy. It's about not upsetting the most important groups.
Obama did a superb job handling crisis that threatened his support among Jews and blacks. Jimmy Carter decided that engaging in dialogue with the Hamas group that leads Palestine would result in increased chances of peace. And you know what? I agree. But it would have been political suicide for Obama to have agreed with Carter. Money will be key in November, and the Jewish bloc is very powerful financially speaking, and dictate much of what's said in newspaper editorials and TV shows throughout the nation. It would be insane to get on their bad side. I give Obama an A+ on that one.

When it comes to Wright, I, much like most of us, agree with most of his statements, and respect and adore African American churches, with their originality, boldness and not being afraid to tell the truth. But the African American community does not have the type of financial power that could help Obama.

Obama's resume may not be extensive, but he seems to have been born with political inteligence rivaled by none. And we will need a smart politician this time around.

A+ for Obama.

20. What have I done?
I haven't thrown ANYONE under the bus based on who they endorse or don't endorse. Many people I like endorse people I don't. I can respect that. So what the fuck are you talking about?

4. All I can say is that if the Jewish bloc you refer to aren't interested in peace,...
... no matter what means are used to achieve it, in this case, dialogue, then they're not very good Jews.

8. So he does what everyone condemns Clinton for doing (even when she doesn't)
and people who swear that Clinton is a triangulating sellout and are voting for Obama in part because of it then decide that Obama is good to triangulate and sell out, whereas Clinton, who does it less than Obama, is bad to do it...

At least you've taken the step of admitting that Obama is shifty. There are some still portraying him as an honest politician trying to change the system.

17. Sometimes, Sistahs need to be Souljahed: blue-eyed anti-semites AND swanky Afrocentric pastors.
I've noticed that both today's Carter and Wright have that gleam in the eyes that is not endearingly enthusiastic but rather the sign of the crazy old zealot.

19. Nothing but unadulterated compensation on the Carter issue
Obama can't do ANYTHING even REMOTELY friendly to the Palestinians now; he's got such a need to be appealing to the Jewish vote that he has to align himself against any move by anybody that could be seen as contrary to Israel's wishes.

Just as Clinton has to be a saber-rattler to compensate for the idiotic misogyny that tars women as weak, Obama has to go overboard with the Christianity and toe the line with Israel to dispel fears of being a Muslim mole. They're both compensation candidates. Call the skycaps and bring all the carts.

29. This is the alarm clock and the coffee pot
It is time to wake up and smell the coffee. On the issue of the wrong ways about Wright.

You must understand Wright too has a campaign he must run! If you will turn to your wrong ways about Wright manual to the chapter that talks about Wright,s intentions of going after Obama should he win the presidency. Now ah, it says here that Wright is telling Obama that he may be old but he has many battles left in him. And ah, it goes on to say that Obama says he knows this day will come sooner or later. Now ah, what your manual doesn,t say is that Wright reserves the right to pick and choose his own time and place to attack and what Obama doesn,t know is war was officially declared on him by The wrong ways about Wright. The general principal Wright is running on is that Obama cannot and will not get past him.And that is because Wright was there befor him.According to Wright Obama never passed the test which means Wright thinks Obama cannot possibly know what is right about right or wrong about right or right from wrong for that matter due to his inexperience and unwillingness to meet the obligations that may have been placed befor him if he had passed the test. However it says here according to Wright that Obama unquestionably beyound the question of a shadow of doubt and in the most outrageously cocky ,militant ways more like a unruley child ,an only child it says here,FAILED in bold print.

Now it says here in the advanced manual for older folk that Wright goes on and on in his commentary ie: The wrong ways about Wright passages , When you spare the rod you spoil the child. Wright goes on to say in his passages that -no matter what I have said or will say about this country ,no matter who in my congragation spits or spills it out ,,late entry, former flock)., I cannot and furthermore will not spare that child the rod. And just how he has managed to escape the pure and true power of love by the way of the rod all these years somehow escapes me. It goes on to say that Wright vigorously states that the time for administering the rod has come and that is just what right is all about.

It seems according to Wright there ain,t but one right way and Obama just don,t know the way.
It ends in what it says here with Wright saying hold on to your seats ,there,s gonna be some rough waves ahead.
