The problem is, they researched Obama, and couldn't find anything on him |
|
Never in my life would I have ever thought that Democrats would belittle another Dem for a campaign of hope and change. But they decided to try to make his "hopefulness" a liability and they had to scrutinize everyone that he has ever come in contact with.
No candidate has ever had to answer for the opinions or actions of acquaintances in this way, but since FoxNews sets the agenda and the other Networks follow like sheep, this is an excellent learning experience for Obama.
He will be an even better President because of this.

We have such a great candidate, and it breaks my heart to see them tear him apart with guilt by association and seizing on gaffes because they can't find any actual dirt. No wonder good people rarely get elected in this country!

Give Republicans 70 million dollars and subpoena power and then you can call him "researched".
And politicians have ALWAYS had to respond to things their associates say. This isn't anything new.

Or, I guess you'd say, she didn't read the fucking paper, because she planned to run for pResident, so the paper didn't matter.

26. How about this, then. You won't hold her to account for her own words. |
|
She KNEW her vote was a vote for war. She said so in her floor statement before she cast her vote. In her own words.
She KNOWS that she agreed that MI would not count, she said so in her own words, out of her own mouth. Her own words.
What the OP is talking about is this double-standard, where it seems like Obama is held to account for the words of others, while at the same time those same people won't even consider the fact that she should be responsible for her own words. Now do you get it?

11. Not sure, but I thought it was Fox News who bought all the tapes that Rev. Wright had |
|
and analyzed them, took out snippets and looped them.
But as I said, I'm not sure what the source was when I read that.

10. Which is why the "bitter" comments were a legitimate issue to discuss..... |
|
...they were his words (and I agreed with them).
But bringing them up is not a dirty trick, because they're HIS words.
Tying him politically to the opinion of every OTHER person in his life was an unfair charge.
And the tide began turning against this line of attack TODAY.
Guilt-by-association is not a legitimate ploy. A person is THEIR own.... i.e. their views and words matter, not the words and views of others.

13. HC does not really understand what the "3rd way" is. |
|
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 11:04 PM by patrice
Look who she has running her campaign, Repuglican Servants and Lobbyists.
Bill has talked about "the third way" for years, but their application of the concept amounts to something like "suck up to Repuglicans, live and work by their principles, get in good with them and when the time is 'right', presto-changeo become your real self again and go against them by doing the right thing." Doesn't work that way.
Obama comes by his understanding of synthesis more organically. His Philadelphia speech shows this. "The 3rd way" is what HE is, not a suit of clothes that he puts on in order to gain influence. The "third way" is his natural mode for problem solving, not just for the acquisition of power.

14. the only person that actually did his job on the wright controversy |
|
was those guys on hannity and colmes but the beloved left wing media did not see it as a minus for obama and let it slide for over a year are better. When it did break it became a big story because obama sat in this church for 16 years and heard the bigotry and racist remarks and said nothing....
obama claims he is a man of the people in the mold of the kennedys. Well, excuse me but Robert kennedy said that when you come upon bigotry then one must speak out against it, then and now and not walk away from it. Well obama walked away from it for 16 years and now because his ass is in a hole he is trying to dig his ass out of this hole, and I hope he stays in the damn hole he has dug for himself.
The questions remain: Why did he stay a member of the congregation? Why didn't he speak up earlier? And why did he reward Rev. Wright with a campaign position even after knowing of his comments? Furthermore, after knowing about some of these sermons and having serious problems with some of their messages, why did Mr. Obama still decide to appoint Rev. Wright to his official presidential campaign religious advisory committee?

How many revisions of the story does this make now? I've lost track.
