If anyone should understand Obama's ambivalence toward Wright,
it should be every Clinton supporter on this board. Whatever Wright has said or done to make people angry at him, he is also responsible for a lot of good things. Why can't all the people here who have hung with Hillary through thick and through thin and who have come up with all kinds of convoluted explanations for every lie and smear understand that sometimes personal loyalty trumps rational judgment?

1. Great post. You would think the Clintons might/could/should respect this. nt

4. Thanks for that, emilyg, I do wonder sometimes. And OT,
are you catching B&S on ABC, Sunday? I remember you are a fan, as I am.

8. Oooh, me too, one of my favorites
I missed a bunch because I was watching John Adams and didn't catch when they started new programs. What happened to Robert's Presidential run? And where did Sarah's ex-husband go?

3. Excellent point! The way Obama feels about Wright is how I feel about the Clintons....

I supported them VEHEMENTLY when they were under assault by the VRWC.

...and their behavior the past six months has caused me to "break" with them.

My Republican father said to me "What took you so long? I told you so."

Exactly what Clinton supporters are saying to Barack about Wright.

Good analogy!

Ambivalence doesn't even begin to describe this situation.

Wright is a liberal pastor that has been smeared from here to Pluto by the Republican whore media.

The question shouldn't be, why is Obama ambivalent. The question is, why are people so ready to dump a liberal voice, a career of working among the people that Democrats say they care about, to dump this man that speaks truth to power.

That is the question.

That the whore media calls him a racist or a divider or says he trashed Obama, well -- if you can't tell the difference between cr@P and caviar, that's a problem.

That Obama had to do it is just a measure of how fucked we are.

In the late sixties and early seventies, there were voices like Wright's. Nobody said they should shut the f3ck up to preserve a politician's image. I guess in those days, the government just killed them outright.

I guess this is the Brave New Day that I was looking forward to.

6. I'm unhappy that this long-term friendship/relationship has imploded.
I feel bad for both men.
